On tap. Poured a hazy light amber with a tight and lasting white head. Aromas of yeast and citrus were evident. Taste featured lemon and spice flavours typical of the style. Also got some apple and a sharp tangy note at the end. Decent body with good length on the palate. Good fresh Aussie saison.
From a 330ml bottle on 3/1/2013. Pours a very cloudy light golden, with a huge gushing foamy head (first attempt at pouring left me with nothing but suds). Has a nice light spicy, citrus aroma. Also tastes spicy with a good dash of tart lemon giving it a refreshing bitter finish. Quite a pleasant beer, which is let down only by the ridiculous level of carbonation. Into a Saison glass at just on cool. Pours a finely hazed pastel orange with sparse, minute sized bubbles. Off white, creamy, compact pad holds on for dear life but manages little lace. Aroma has hints of zesty, candied lemon and pear, vanilla, peach yeast and caramel atop a backdrop of wheat. Wheaty bite on the palate; big dose of added minty herb and spice amongst some tangy fruit esters. Camphorous and clove-like phenolic with a little rock candi in there too. Fruity, lactic finish comes across like banana flavoured icecream and gives it a doughy feel. Light in body and soft otherwise. Dominated by phenols and fruit by the end but not altogether integrated or harmonious. A strange Saison! (33cL, Int’l Beer Store, W. Leederville)
Orange amber with furious pent up carbonation. Ever building, messy off-white crown manages to spew out the lip of the tulip and all over the bench beneath. What I managed of the aroma was fruity and tangy hinting at peach, apricot and honeydew with a sweet yeasty edge. Creamy in mouthfeel from the head. Phenolic, smoky and a little plastic on first sip marring it from then on in. Wheat malt and tangy fruit base is pleasant but this is offset by a weedy and lasting bitter bite. Yeast plays a big part in the flavour as it warms but not in any good way. Second chance and I’m still not impressed of this one. Mish-mash of yeast flavours in both years just doesn’t work. From Beer Masons. Cloudy yellow colour with good head retention. Aroma of wheat and coriander seed, quite a complex fruity and spice nose. Has good bitterness and is a clean well brewed beer. Quite a good Saison actually. highlandlad (1480) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - AUG 18, 2012
A minor disappointment perhaps because I badly wanted this to be a great Australian saison. Instead, it’s solid with a few flaws. Marmalade-gold with an enduring rim of suds. Nice, wheaty aroma. Bananas, pineappley esters, wheatfields - very clean and appetising. Carbonation seems a little sharp for the style. In the mouth, it’s spicy, yeasty but a bit soapy. Very dry and pretty metallic in the finish. Jarring. Undoes a lot of good work imo. Bottom line is I wouldn’t buy again. (330ml bottle from Leura Cellars)

Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours a murky off yellow with a small, dense white head. Nice lacing. Mild floral hoppage with sweet citrus and a touch of belgian yeast. Seems very sweet in the taste. A solid saison but was expecting more Nevele (10) - AUSTRALIA - MAY 22, 2012
A nice beer, and until now the best Saison I have tasted in Australia. The look is a bit cloudy, but the head is firm and nice beige. Comparable to the Dupont Saison, but a little bit fruitier in taste. Nice! Sevenlee (1846) - Central Coast, NSW, AUSTRALIA - MAR 1, 2012
Pours a yellow with a white head. Aroma is slightly wheaty and fruity. Taste is the same with a fruity aftertaste. Ok

The saison has a fruity, spicy interesting flavour. Refreshing and very sessionable. The pick of the bunch from this Melbourne brewer and my favourite Australian saison.
