Transferring from old rating system. A lighter than expected beer. Not great, but not bad. Has some flavor. Needs more, is missing something. Tap bulldogops (2726) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - DEC 20, 2015
Rating #1446 - 21.01.2015 - Bottle from Co-op MacTaggart. Dark brown pour with a weak bubbly tan foam that disappears quickly. Aroma is strong roast malts, hint of nutty sweetness. Taste is hint of nutty sweetness, dominant roast malt, slight hop character with a slightly bitter finish that is quite pleasant. Pretty tasty. slowrunner77 (12581) - Reno, Nevada, USA - JUL 13, 2015
Still a little on the generic side, but better than their old but brown. Malt and toffee in this chestnut colored ale. Pleasantly light, fitting for hot Vegas days. Beersmithbacon (111) - San Luis Rey, California, USA - MAY 15, 2015
Big pillowy and cloudy head. Subdued brown malt aroma. Lean and some wine character. Finished with mostly brown malt and wine alcohol. thb (832) - Alberta, CANADA - JAN 16, 2015
Mostly clear light brown/deep red. Plenty head-y. Aroma is very nutty, with chicory, some fruits. Taste is quite sweet. Some bitterness part way through that fades by the finish. A little cloying. Creamy mouthfeel.

Poured from bomber into a pint glass
Appearance- The beer pours a copper-brown color with a big off white head. The head has a great level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a light level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell- The aroma is a mix of roasted malt with some aromas of nut, dark fruit, and coffee. Along with these more roasted aromas are some smells of caramel and toffee as well as a little bit of an earthy hop smell.
Taste-The taste begins with a sweet caramel and lightly fruity flavor with a nice roasted malt backbone. Coffee and some nutty flavors are present upfront and continue on till the taste ends. Along with these flavors comes some lighter hop flavors of an earthy nature more toward the middle to the end of the taste. The coffee flavor intensifies a bit more toward the end of the taste, leaving one with a moderately sweet but nicely roasted flavor on the tongue.
Mouthfeel –The body of the brew is on the slightly thicker and creamier for the only 5.6 % abv of the brew with a carbonation level that is on the more average to slightly below average side. Both are great for the style and the roasted flavors of the brew, giving it a nice mouth coating feel.
Overall – A very tasty brown ale that is quite smooth and tasty with a good balanced flavor profile.

Poured into pint glass. Looks fantastic very dark amber red colour. Taste is alright maybe I'm just not used to American brown ales. A bit to much hoppyness? All in all a pretty good beer. I'd definitely drink it again.

Draft pour. Pours dark with a very sugar sweet and malty aroma. On the sweeter side too on the flavor with a nutty finish. Some hints of chocolate too. Not bad.
