A most uninteresting beer. Sweet tasteless with loads of alcohol. No doubt that will appeal to some but not me.

Not really sure about this one. I got chewed out by a couple British friends I met at a bar for trying this. Told me it was for tramps. Whatever. Not a very good taste at all. Very strong. Wouldn't recommend to many.

UPDATED: JUL 3, 2007 On tap, in Rome, Italy, at Campo di Fiori. Nice strong lager, well balanced.

Had this in England and I have little good to say about it. It’s what you drink if you want to get drunk fast. Strong alcohol smell and little other elements there.

Super sweet, and thick, this is a truly awful beer. Proper wife beating juice.

Stumbled across this in Sicily, as it seems many others have, as this beer is apparently quite popular in Italian bars. Seems to be a popular high ABV brew, cost-efficient I suppose if you're looking for a buzz on the cheap. While not terrible, "Imperial pils" is too generous a title, more of a malt liquor. By malt liquor standards, it's decent, pours an average golden pale color, smells of grainy malt. Medium bodied with lots of carbonation. The taste is grainy, surprisingly some earthy and fruity hoppiness, also an alcoholic boozy tang. Finish is sour and rough, the high ABV is very evident throughout. Still enjoyable in a way, if you don't approach it with high expectations you won't be disappointed.

Bottle. A popular drop in Italy. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is sweet, bread and malt, artificial fruit. Flavour is sweet malt, a bit syrupy, alcohol is very evident. Drinkable but why?

Well, it’s not so good. But it’s quite inoffensive as well.

50 cl can, poured into a glass, bbe Aug 05. Light amber/orange, good foamy head, hazy, strong pearling. A rather weak flowery and perfumy odour, reminiscent of a detersive. Malty and fruity (apricots), round in the mouth, tickles the palate.

[draught] I used to remember it was just too sweet for me, but the other night I decided to give it another try... and, well, I almost liked it. I admit it was a hot and sultry night, and a drink (any drink!) was definitely appreciated, but fact is that it was sweet but not cloying; the alcohol was strong but not overpowering. Smooth mouthfeel.
