Draft st Funky Buddha. Snifter. Pours a dark reddish brown with thin white head. Mild lacing. Serious malt, caramel, black bread aroma. Taste is bold with malts, caramel, prunes, booze and cocoa. Medium body, smooth, medium carbonation, bold finish. 12.6%. Wow. Aged 18 months. MartinT (10036) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - FEB 10, 2013

Flambéed bananas and caramelized apples initially seduce but this Barrel-Aged Barley Wine ultimately disappoints in its high alcohol presence and lack of flavor definition.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam crowns the dark brown.
-The aroma was much more revealing than the muddled flavor profile.
-Lots of green barrel flavors are tasted.
-There is not much complexity to speak of in the flavor profile.
-Mouthfeel is predictably plump.
On tap at Funky Buddha.
Draft... This beer rocks!… Pours dark brown with a small, creamy, khaki head. The aroma is fruity, malty and vinous with apple brandy being very much front-and-center. Medium to full-bodied with modest carbonation. The well-balanced flavor provides big-time calvados and county fair caramel apples. Finishes boozy with caramelized sugar and both liquory bitterness and dryness. World class beer! knickskicks (1168) - - OCT 5, 2012
Tap at Funky Buddha’s 2nd year anniversary. Muddy dark brown, thin tan head that dissipates. Good lacing. Nose is huge apple brandy, apple pie, fresh bread, gym socks, sweat, wood. Taste is apple brandy, dark fruits, perspiration, fresh bread. I was looking forward to the 2010 Ordinary Madness more but this barley wine was the one that blew me away. scottyshades (130) - Parkland, Florida, Florida, USA - OCT 4, 2012
Good lord, what a treat at FB. Lots of apple brandy in the nose and flavor but not too much or too boozy. Easy drinker, well balanced. A little woody as it decants. F’ing amazing, seek out
