Nice brown pour with a yellowish/tan head. Very smooth for the high ABV. Lots of brown sugar, toasted marshmallow, some toffee and cane syrup flavors. Nice! Fritz123 (1597) - Boca Raton, Florida, USA - MAR 7, 2013
Funky Buddha tap. Pours a very dark, almost black thick color. Good tan head with mild lace. Heavy sweet aroma of malts, spice, toffee, plums, and roasted cocoa. Taste is amazing with a chocolaty, roasted sweet flavor. For a 12.7% abv it does not have an overwhelming alcohol taste. Finishes slightly bitter with hops. Very good. burg326 (5608) - Florida, USA - SEP 18, 2012
On draft at Funky Buddha, poured a dark cloudy brown color with aromas of caramel, malt, light chocolate, light oak, and some booze. Flavors are the same, light hops in the middle but decent caramel/toffee flavors throughout. Decent boozy aftertaste, couldn’t drink a ton of these, but one glass was good enough. smith4498 (3674) - Winter Springs, Florida, USA - SEP 5, 2012
Draft @ Cervezas. Pours dark brown with tan head. Aromas of roasted malts, chocolate, brown sugar, and oak. Bittersweet milk chocolate and roasted malt flavor with hints of caramel and oak. Full body with moderate carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. Nice. msante79 (2244) - Mount Prospect, Illinois, USA - AUG 31, 2012
On tap at Funky Buddha. Pours murky dark brown with small light tan head. Aromas of roasted malts, light toffee and caramel, some bready malts, little earthy hop, a chocolate note in there as well. Flavors of some roasted malts, chocolate, some hop bitterness, caramel and toffee intertwined as well wirh just a bit of oak in there as well. This is scary drinkable for 12.7%. It seriously tastes like 5% or less. Mouthfeel may be a touch thin an carbonation is a little daft, but it works really well with this beer. Really good stuff.

On draft at the Buddha. Wow! This beer had me hooked from the first sip. 12.6ABV...I think not. It drinks like a light lager, there’s no way I would have guessed it was that high in alcohol. The flavors are incredible. Oaky and creamy with hints of vanilla and sweet malt. Outstanding beer! hopscotch (11245) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - AUG 2, 2012
Draft... This beer rocks!... Hazy dark brown ale with a small, creamy, cappuccino head. Fantastic retention. The malty aroma is toasty and caramely with a whisper of cotton candy. Full-bodied and fatty with tickling carbonation. Remarkably well-balanced for a barley wine. Sweet, but equally bitter and roasted. Finishes, roasty, moderately bitter, and then dry. This has the IBUs of an American-style barley wine, but drinks like an English-style barley wine – which tickles my taint. Thank God for the oak. World class beer right here!
