Draft at the brewpub. Pumpkin in January? Sure why not! Poured a very vibrant orange color with a small, creamy head. Aroma was light gourd, with plenty of pumpkin spices thrown in there. Sweet, light pumpkin pie character. Very drinkable, got a second one hopscotch (11451) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - FEB 16, 2013
Draft... Clear, deeply orange ale with flashes of copper and a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Great retention. The aroma is an assortment of spice rack goodies - clove, cinnamon and nutmeg – blended with loads of fresh pumpkin meat, brown sugar, caramel and a lightly spicy Belgian yeast phenol. Medium to full-bodied with lazy carbonation. Big-time pumpkin pie flavor - winter spices, pumpkin meat, sweet caramel malts and graham – with an unexpected, metallic bitterness that is not invited to the party, but not so intense that it rains on the parade. Finishes bittersweet and tannic - more bitter than sweet.
