UPDATED: JAN 9, 2009 Bottled, brewed in Russia by Tinkoff. My 300th rating serves as a warning: Tequiza is apparently being licensed to other countries. This Russian version does have a distinctly lime and agave note. But there’s still just no real reason for it to exist. Just buy a damn margarita. Interesting that the beer appears on their original Russian website, but when you switch to the English version, it’s gone. And for an outfit that claims craft brewing pretensions, what’s with the clear bottles? (Okay, this one was in green bottles, but you get the point)

This was something of a novelty when it first came out. I enjoyed the first beer but subsequent beers I enjoyed less and less. It did have a tequila aftertaste, probably artificial but the uniqueness wore off quickly.

Going from memory after not having or even seeing this in a few years. Similar to Corona, best served with a lime in the bottle and easy to drink on a hot day. I’ll give it what its worth, a middle of the road, drinkable & thirst quenching 10 out of 20. slowrunner77 (11917) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 15, 2014
"stick with Corona...are you kidding??? This is not a good beer by ANY means, but at least the fake Tequila flavoring is something different and covers up the crappy beer taste a little. I suppose adding a lime to Corona does the same. They both suck." jimmie65 (330) - Texas, USA - JUN 13, 2012
I have fond memories of this beer. Pale yellow, smells of lime, tastes like beer mixed with a margarita. Refreshing but not much to it.

This should be a shandy. Shandies are nice, refreshing, popular with old people in Scotland. This is not. Took a sip. Put it down and left it. If you were dying of thirst, sure. seymour (1989) - Maplewood, Missouri, USA - NOV 15, 2011
Tasted from bottle at a party. Awful, just awful. Base is a bad macro adjunct lager with loads of nasty candy flavors. Metallic, soapy, stale, chemical, offensive. Why?! nathanh5 (9) - Alexandria, Alabama, USA - MAY 11, 2011 does not count
My favorite beer on earth. I miss this brew, retired for a few years now. The best summer cooler-beer ever conceived.
Slightly sweet, the hint of Tequila, agave nectar and lime just made this taste perfect to my tongue.
I am working furiously (and probably to no avail) to get them to bring this back. bpreo (2832) - Eugene, Oregon, USA - OCT 12, 2010
UPDATED: OCT 14, 2010 One of the big names when it comes to Mexican style crappy Lagers. Up there (or down there) with Corona, Modelo, Dos Equis, Pacifico, and probably one of two more I can’t think of. Vikingbrew (193) - Colorado, USA - SEP 21, 2010
Bad sickening flavor. If you must drink a mexican lager, stick with the established brands like Corona. This one uses too much artificial flavoring. I don’t recommend this beer
