COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Translated from the Dutch on brewer’s website: Originally brewed as a Christmas beer, this irresistible dark beer for tasting at 7.1% ABV became a permanent fixture almost immediately. It’s a mildly fruit, lightly sweet and soft dark warm fermented abbey beer with three types of malt and two types of hops and additions of light and dark candy sugar. The biggest proportion of malt is Munich barley malt, which has been killed a slightly higher temperature to give a slightly more coloured character than usual. This gives Ter Dolen Donker its biscuit-like flavour. Added to this are light hints of caramel from some caramel malts, along with the typical flavours of light and dark candy sugar. Our Donker is bottle conditioned.

Pours dark brown color with a thin, beige head that won't last for long. Some fruity notes and a slightly spicy sting, followed by a very light alcoholic aftertaste. After all, a solid Dubbel.
