COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

chromeotaphor (177) - NETHERLANDS - MAY 28, 2015
Felle kersen ontzettend zoet aroma. Licht troebel met een redelijke schuimkraag. Overzoet van smaak met een mooi kersensmaak dat wel, mierenzoet zelfs. Komt redelijk felletjes binnen, drinkt zich makkelijk. Niets bijzonders voor een kriek.

arminjewell (9729) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - APR 23, 2015
Pour on tap at Happy Gnome, deep reddish pour with slightly off white head, aroma brought notes of cherry, cherry juice, lots of medicine, some cherry pie, slight bread and lots of sweet sugary notes, some slight lemon. Taste was basically all cherry, some caramelized sugars, vanilla, some slight pie notes with medicine, finishing sweet.

troyc (2869) - Illinois, USA - MAR 4, 2015
[Tap] Reddish orange in color with a firm off-white head on top. Sweet aromas of cherry juice, vanilla, grenadine and candy. Strong cherry flavors are the main theme there. Personally, I thought these flavors were on the sweet and syrupy side, but genuine. Not very tart at all, lots of residual sugar here. Lingering juice and taffy notes in the finish. I can see how a lot of people wouldn’t like this, but I actually thought it was pretty good.

conway (2210) - - MAR 2, 2015
Bottle. Pours ruby with thin off white head and active carb. Aroma is Hostess cherry pie. Taste is similar but maybe a little more like cherry soda. Thin and sticky. Tasty but borderline cloying.

Bottle. Red colour, white foam. Medium carbonation. Very sweet aroma of candy along with sweet cherries. Very artificial. Not good.

ShivanDragon (4704) - Leeuwarden, NETHERLANDS - OCT 21, 2014

2.6
Alengrin (5902) - BELGIUM - OCT 17, 2014
Another top fermented sweet cherry beer, since 2005. Moussy, dense, sticky, pinkish to pale lilac head, cherry red colour with a somewhat amber hue, misty. Aroma dominated by a candy-like cherry sweetness (strawberry icecream, red candy), with a lemony sourish touch and some faint caramelly malts. Sourishly sweet, lemonade-like onset with strong carbo, releasing a glimpse of sweetish malts but quickly losing itself in a thick, syrupy, grenadine- and jam-like, cloying sweetness, which is the last thing happening in the palate. I basically bought this for rating purposes, I guess I’ll never like sweet fruit beers anyway. But I did have worse than this, even.

3.2
ganache (6089) - New Jersey, USA - SEP 14, 2014
11.2 oz bottled as Ter Dolen Kriek. Nose is tart cherry, red and black with light sugary character but not yet excessive. Pours a dark pink with a light pink head, a rich ruby body held under light but still opaque. Taste is crisp and strongly carbonated without being fierce, cherry juice is just super intense (probably closer to cherry juice with alcohol added than beer with cherry), sugar not as noticeable going down but certainly in the aftertaste and on the chompers. Fullish body, clean, very sweet and summery, at which time I’d probably want to drink faster than this would allow (a bit syrupy in its volume, and cloying at high speeds).
