Cloudy red orange, pink orange head. Sulphur overwhelms the caramel malts , bittersweet cherry (amarena). Sweet and caramel taste, with malts trying to balance the syrup-like cherry taste. Not bad, afterall, if you love sweet drinks. EddyBeer1 (1058) - Brussels, BELGIUM - MAY 26, 2014
Rouge rubis opaque, effervescence légère, col rose très fin. Arôme de massepain aux cerises, sucrée jusqu’à l’écoeurement, sirupeuse, un peu chimique? Beuark! jfb (6270) - GERMANY - APR 30, 2014
(bottle) pours a murky deep ruby colour with a frothy pink head. aroma of cherries, heavy marzipan and pale malts, slightly meaty, with a hint of banana and sugar icing. flavour is mostly barnyard, cherries and treebark, with a heavy sweetness, some cinnamon, clove and wheat. medium- to heavy-bodied with average carbonation. Bottle: The aroma consists of a strange combination of cherry popsicles and BBQ sauce. It pours a hazy/cloudy brownish-orange with a small beige head. The flavor tastes like a overly sweet melted cherry popsicle with a slightly tart finish. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation and a sticky mouthfeel. Overall, I’m a sucker for cherry beers, even if it comes across as candy-ish or artificial, but this is too artificial and sugary. burg326 (5482) - Florida, USA - APR 12, 2014
Poured a re dish pink color with aromas of wet wood, cherries and some light barn yard. Flavors are the same sweet and sour cherries with some light funk that was aging on its own.

bottle. Deep pink with one finger head. Very sweet. Seems like a very fruity cherry soda. I think this could use a lot more tartness. Idiosynkrasie (7539) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - MAR 9, 2014
330ml bottle. Cloudy red colour with average to huge, thick, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, pink-ish off-white head. Intense morello cherry aroma with slightly artificial touch, hints of sherbet. Taste is artificial, sweet-and-sour, hints of sherbet, sweet artificial cherry aroma. If you like this kind of taste (I do), then it’s not bad - but it surpresses any hint of beer (if there is); anyway; I’d prefer to find this taste exclusively where it belongs - in fruit-gums. 33 cL bottle at home. Pours hazy reddish/pink with a small to medium pink head. Aroma is quite a lot like the dutch "gevulde speculaas/spijs", some sweet candy and syrup. Taste is very sweet with sweet candy, syrup, some fruitiness, sugar. No sourness, funk or anything that resembles a kriek. Medium body and carbo. Awful. 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - FEB 21, 2014
Bottle:   When I drink this I think to myself, what would a beer taste like if there were ever to be a cherry relish, instead of pickle relish.   A little sweet, a little tart, some cherry, but for some reason when the cherry relish was made, they left a wee bit of pickle relish in there.   Now you have Ter Dolen Kriek. On tap at Grumpys NE pours a cleanish pink/red with a large pink head. Aroma reminds me of a jar of maraschino cherries. Tastes like cherry fruit punch juice, maybe a cherry soda because of the carbonation. It’s not terrible but certainly not what I look for in a kriek.
