This wouldve made a strong 1100th review, but just had an off flavor to it, sorta soapy. or cardboardish. green dragon sprays cold water in each glass before pouring the beer. maybe a little contamination in aging (this a 12). otherwise aromas of alcohol and cherry. bright cloudy golden color. well-balanced on the palate.

On draught at 2014 CellarFest at Baileys Taproom. 2009 vintage. Amber golden color. Aroma is very oxidized, with caramel, citrus hops, and burnt sugar notes. Taste is caramelized hops, oxidation, burnt citrus, and dark malts. Smooth mouthfeel, but with a wicked hop note in the finish.

6 ounce sample on tap at Beveridge Place Pub. Sweet, fruity, and vinous aroma. Nicely aromatic. Transparent garnet-amber colored body with a small, off-white head. Starts sweet, sugary, and caramelly. Nice malt character. Light roastiness in the middle, before this finishes with more sweetness and vinousness. Really tasty and easy-drinking. Dangerous.

On tap for Brouwers Hard Liver 12. Pours ruby orange, with low carbonation. Musty caramel and fruit on the nose -- slightly dank. Flavor adds rubbing alcohol and soap (and this is at a spot that thoroughly rinses their glasses). Not a fan of this one.

On tap for Hard Liver 12, pours an opaque orangey dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of candied sugar, caramel, twizzlers - very sweet. Flavour is syrupy with caramel sweetness, no hop presence, just lots of sweetness. Palate is syrupy thick with an almost cloying sweetness. Quite nice but overly sweet.

Cloudy. Sweet and sticky flavours and aromas. Plenty of estery fun but over-all I found this one a little too sickly and boozy.

Had the 06 of this on tap at Baileys Taprooms Cellar Fest (Jan. 10). Colour... garnet-brown with a thick off white head. Nose... lactose-like with hints of caramel. Palate... lots of CO2 for an 06! Slightly musty grain, dry on the soft palate, some toffee and caramel, bitterness around the edges and a slightly oxidised character

Tap at Horse Brass in two different years! 02 and 05. Both versions were very tasty though different, with a much more pronounced earthen/pine hop presence in the 05. The 02 was a smooth malt bomb, delicious meld of caramel, brown sugar and dark fruit. The 05 had all that but a little less pronounced and with more hoppiness. Would drink both versions again in a heartbeat.

Draft at Uber. Pours a reddish amber with a thin head. Aroma is sweet: and syrupy, in a good way. In the mouth, its a little harsh, but still interesting, with notes of caramel, banana, etc.
