3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled at the First Inaugural Raleigh Rare and Vintage Beer Festival. Dark near black pour with ring of brown head. The roast and cocoa are the undertones of this one, but mainly, it was just nicely whiskey and bourbon vanilla. Smooth, creamy body and not too hot either. Gotta agree with emacgee on this one, the base beer just doesn’t really shine through here much. Still a tasty beer though.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Opaque black pour with one finger of dark tan head. Lots of bourbon in the nose, sharp oak and vanilla with some chocolate. Singular barrel character. Super barrel-y and bourbon-y. Medium body with a warming finish. Not much of the base beer makes it through here.
