On tap at Hunah Day. Pours a cloudy copper with medium tan head that lasts. The aroma is dark fruit, rye, bourbon, wood, candy sugar. Medium body, rye, bourbon, wood, caramel, candy sugar, boozy finish, very good. Homer321 (5070) - Melboring, Florida, USA - NOV 4, 2015
Bottle to taster. Nose is huge with caramel and sugar. Minimal booze and barrel character. Not much alcohol noticed. Pretty smooth and way better than expected. beechner224 (1024) - Melbourne, Florida, USA - SEP 12, 2015
Bottle in fridge, to my glass. Pours a cloudy amber color, not much head. aroma is all malt bomb, in your face sweetness. My teeth hurt a bit. Taste is syrupy, sweet, bitter a bit. Finish is almost drying, some fruity aftertaste. taste better than it smells. But now I read the description, bourbon barrels? could have fooled me, dont get that much. But still this beer aint to bad. Kavu (4783) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUN 2, 2015
A small taste from a friend (bottle) @ One Pint Pub. Pours clear deep chestnut with a low head. Aroma is roasted malts, dark fruits, alcohol and spices. Flavor is sweet and sour roasted malts, vinegar, dark fruits and some hops. Quite nice. arminjewell (9635) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - APR 23, 2015

Amber with a cream head. Sherry, caramel, rye, alcohol and sticky. Chewy malts, rye, sweet, dried fruits, and light alcohol. jbruner (4734) - Marietta, Georgia, USA - OCT 18, 2014
BFM swing top versus Terrapin bomber, both from 2011. BFM pours a much darker brown, Terrapin a copper, both with minimal to no head or lacing. Aroma on the BFM is more intense, some roast and dark fruit, hint of vanilla. BFM has some sour notes on the tongue, acetic tartness, Terrapin is much more toward the barley wine, big caramel and vanilla. Terrapin is smoother, BFM is more complex. Definitely a cool beer. slowrunner77 (12030) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 22, 2014
"Pretty nice biscuit malt forward barleywine. The 1/3 bourbon barreled blend leaves me wanting a little more barrel presence, though it comes out nicely as it warms. Depending on the bourbon, 50 50 is about perfect. Little hop presence, though there is some back-end bitterness. Overall, pretty nice, though not a standout."

Murky body without any head. Wood, red grapes, raisin, sour, pine and complex. Thick palate, very rich taste in every sip. Characterful, lactic like acidity and delicious malts. I truly like this one. Original and exceptional taste. (Bottle at Au Bon Coin) Strykzone (7351) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - APR 9, 2014
Sampled at esbls. Mid brown and hazy. No head. A big fruity malt aroma is aggressive. A really thin feel. An odd flavor. Dark complex fruit with bourbon. Big malts. I’m not a fan.
