"Pretty nice biscuit malt forward barleywine. The 1/3 bourbon barreled blend leaves me wanting a little more barrel presence, though it comes out nicely as it warms. Depending on the bourbon, 50 50 is about perfect. Little hop presence, though there is some back-end bitterness. Overall, pretty nice, though not a standout."

Pour on tap, listed as 2011 Barley Ryne, dark orange-red pour with slightly off white head, aroma brought notes of caramel, toffee, red fruits into a bit of oak, bourbon into some sherry, oxidized notes into a bit of rye, spice. Taste was toast, rye, some caramel, slight wheat notes into some spirit, oak, bourbon into some fruit, finishing sweet.

Bottle to taster. Nose is huge with caramel and sugar. Minimal booze and barrel character. Not much alcohol noticed. Pretty smooth and way better than expected.

Hazy brown. This is thick enough that the head builds slowly. Caramel, nuts, a touch of dark dried fruit. Not over the top, but good.

On tap at Brick Store Pub. Nose has a good dose of bourbon with some sweet malts in the background. Flavor has a bit of dark fruit and caramel alongside bourbon and a touch of vanilla. Quite smooth. Very nice.

Drank at thirdeye11’s birthday party. The beer pours an orange-amber color with a white head. The aroma is full of toffee and caramel malt, with some nice brown sugar qualities. The flavor is a bit different. I get some nice oak notes, as well as some toffee and rye. There is also a bit of dark cherry in the flavor. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

This draft brew from a beer bar poured a medium sized head of foamy tan colored bubbles that were and left behind a no visible carbonation slightly hazy dark ruby red brown colored body and an excellent lacing. The mild aroma was malty. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of Irish red malt and hops. Delicious and one I would certainly like to have again.

Bottle courtesy of noodleuse, a huge thanks! Hazy bright ruby amber color, scant edge head. Aroma of toasted and lightly spiced caramel. Taste is rich butterscotch and light booze. Nice.

On tap at Hunah Day. Pours a cloudy copper with medium tan head that lasts. The aroma is dark fruit, rye, bourbon, wood, candy sugar. Medium body, rye, bourbon, wood, caramel, candy sugar, boozy finish, very good.

(bottle) Barley Ryne. Murky reddish brown body with no head. Aroma reminds me of a sour ale (tart cherry and sour apple), other dark fruit, light to moderate wood, sweet. Medium body, very oily. Very tart, sour flavo and sweetr; cherry, apple, figs, raisin; light wood.
