Hazy brown. This is thick enough that the head builds slowly. Caramel, nuts, a touch of dark dried fruit. Not over the top, but good.

On tap at Brick Store Pub. Nose has a good dose of bourbon with some sweet malts in the background. Flavor has a bit of dark fruit and caramel alongside bourbon and a touch of vanilla. Quite smooth. Very nice.

On tap at Hunah Day. Pours a cloudy copper with medium tan head that lasts. The aroma is dark fruit, rye, bourbon, wood, candy sugar. Medium body, rye, bourbon, wood, caramel, candy sugar, boozy finish, very good.

(bottle) Barley Ryne. Murky reddish brown body with no head. Aroma reminds me of a sour ale (tart cherry and sour apple), other dark fruit, light to moderate wood, sweet. Medium body, very oily. Very tart, sour flavo and sweetr; cherry, apple, figs, raisin; light wood.

Bottle from my parents, shared at Chad’s birthday. Brown pour with a white head. Aroma is lots of bready spice and tons of caramel. Taste is rye, brown sugar, caramel, rye, a little alcohol, and a good finish.

Pours brown with little head. Aroma is of sweet malt and some bread. Taste is pretty sweet with a lot if malt, a little hops, and a hint of bourbon. Palate is decent, but pretty sweet. For 1/3 bourbon barrel aged, I don’t get much bourbon.

Bottle share by Brian, ruby/golden color with sparse white head. Aroma is a lot of pine, bit of malt as well. Taste is pine and a bit of caramel sweetness, bit of off flavors. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Delicious barley wine. Aroma was nice. Toffee, caramel and roasted malt. Pour was a milk chocolate brown with a thin off white film for a head. Taste was big and malty. Sweet brown sugar, caramel and milk with a sticky toffee finish. No hops to speak of. As it warmed, the bourbon came out. Vanilla and bourbon were just a hint, but present. Light carbonation. Nice beer

2011 Bomber from Beer Run. Pours a hazy brown color with a thin tan head. Fair head retention. Aroma of rye, toffee, earth, bourbon. mild toast. The taste is caramel, strong rye, toffee, bitter citrus. Medium bodied, boozy, low carbonation.

Bottle in fridge, to my glass. Pours a cloudy amber color, not much head. aroma is all malt bomb, in your face sweetness. My teeth hurt a bit. Taste is syrupy, sweet, bitter a bit. Finish is almost drying, some fruity aftertaste. taste better than it smells. But now I read the description, bourbon barrels? could have fooled me, dont get that much. But still this beer aint to bad.
