Bottle from TheBeerCellar. Thanks! Pours a deep muddy brown with a thin head. Retention not so good, lacing good. Aroma is strong malt with an earthy hop profile perfectly blended in. Taste is oily hops with a nutty malt profile. Terrapin is fast becoming a favorite brewery of mine.

Dogbrick (13389) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAY 21, 2010
Sample at the "Beer Tasting on the Front Porch". Pours an iced tea color with a medium beige head that diminishes steadily to a wispy film. Rings of lacing. Aroma of hops, sweet molasses and malt. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, bready malt and pine. The finish is hoppy with a sweet malty aftertaste. Good IIPA all around.

Bottle from Captain Couger. Pours Reddish with restrained but noticeable foam, in my anti-gravity glass.Very very smooth, though hoppy. Alcohol hits you without noticing in taste. Malty, satisfying, though not overly complex. Well balanced.

08 vintage...8.3 abv on label...imperial red ale on label. as an imperial ipa it would have failed completely. too malty for an ipa, and almost too malty for a Ired too. no telling what month of 08 thi was bottled, and it tasted past it’s prime, with descriptors in our party of wet cardboard and dirt. had potential though. it looked and felt great. big full body. sweetish malts were bigger than the not so fresh hops (no floral, only bittering effect left). maybe this was better last year at some point. i hope so based on the rating, but it was an average beer and a subpar imperial tonight. too bad..."

deyholla (11902) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - NOV 15, 2010
Bottle thanks to Dan! Poured a hazy amber red with a gray head that dissipated to the edges. Aroma had a nice pine hop note with a slight backing citrus note and a hint of darker sweet grain. Flavor had strong pine throughout but was balanced by the presence of a grain note.

3.8
madsberg (11774) - Søborg, DENMARK - NOV 27, 2009
Bottle thx to lbrew2or3. Dark murky amber coloured. Huge light brown head. Spruce, fruits, caramel, spice, herbs, light fruits and flowers in the aroma. Flavour of pine, spice, grape, light caramel, herbs and flowers. Medium to full bodied. Dry herbal bitterness in the end.
