Horizontal with some other whales: Dark Lord ’12, Darkness ’13, Cinnamon Roll’d Wake ’n Bake ’13, Hunahpu ’14 -- Poured into a snifter sampler. It was criminal to not drink this beer for breakfast and/or with pancakes. Incredible cinnamon and coffee amalgamation, great stout. Second best among those listed. AHSlowhand (46) - - JAN 18, 2014
UPDATED: JAN 20, 2014 Beige caramel head on a sea of jet black. Beautiful lacing. Faint aroma of cinnamon, but the coffee is very masked compared to normal W-n-B. Huge cinnamon on the first sip. Slight booziness on the back end. Smooth, full body. Can?t wait to try it with some age on it. mverity (294) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JAN 1, 2014
Bottle share at Proof courtesy of jbruner. Poured a pitch black opaque with good tan head that went fairly quickly. Aroma is perfectly dark. Coffee, dark roasty malt, and a touch of cinnamon in there as well. Taste is the exact same as the aroma, wonderful. Nice viscous body and creamy mouthfeel. Superb beer. bytemesis (8808) - Sunnyvale, California, USA - MAR 17, 2014
Bottle - thanks to EricTeusink! First lets start with the wax. I get what they are going for, but really?? Was that pain festival necessary? As for the beer itself, pours opaque black with a small dark brown head that dissipates quickly with decent lacing on the glass. Aroma is roasty, dark chocolate, coffee, cinnamon, vanilla. Flavor is quite sweet, medium bitter, strong cinnamon and vanilla notes, dark chocolate. Medium full body, creamy mouthfeel. OK, I can see why this could be taken as a bit gimmicky, and why the "I hate Dark Lord" crowd would rain shit on this as well, but I thoroughly enjoyed this beer, from first sip to last. Comes out of the tap a warm coffee with a thick, fine-bubbled tan head that leaves generous lacing. Smoky aroma has notes of coffee, toffee and cinnamon - a lot of cinnamon. Flavor parades coffee, sweet cinnamon, toffee and subtle nutty notes across the tongue. A slight underpinning off hops rounds out a very tasty beer. Texture is smooth, firm, and fairly fizzy; finish is syrupy but has a bit of hops to balance. Beer for breakfast!

Pours thick dark unclear coffee with a quickly dissipating tan head. This is Hunahpu’s junior, aroma has big cinnamon and chocolate and some coffe with roasted malts. Flavor is the same, rich creamy coffee and roasted fmslts with cinnamon, so nice! Drake (14045) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JAN 18, 2014
Draft at Whole Foods Charlottesville. Pours a dark brown color with a thin frothy brown head. Good head retention. Aroma of cinnamon, vanilla, chocolate, sweet roasted malts, mild hops and dark fruit. The taste is cocoa, cinnamon, coffee, roast, dark fruits, vanilla. Medium bodied, low carbonation. Damn good beer. HourGlass13 (1000) - North Carolina, USA - DEC 19, 2015
Pours up almost totally black, with a huge maroon brown head. Good retention and lacing. Aroma is dominated by cinnamon dust and fresh chocolate brownies. Taste is rich with cinnamon, fresh baked and grilled bread. Delicious. Perfect desert beer. kayres (888) - , Georgia, USA - DEC 19, 2013
Black with a thin tan head. Choclaty cinnamon aroma. Smooth start with a definite spicy background. Finishes with definite creamy cinnamon

Poured into a pint glass. Aromas of coffee, spice, oak, alcohol. Jet-black with a very small, thin brown head. Cinnamon is the initial flavor, followed by espresso beans and a sweet flavor that can only be described as "icing". It’s a very cool take on their already-awesome Wake ’n’ Bake Stout. Highly recommended, if you can find it!
