5/23/13. On tap at The Distillery. Black pour with ruby edges under a fluffy khaki head. Dry, meaty aroma with some salt and light acidity. Smokey, meaty flavor as well with roasted malts, dryness, and light coffee. Not bad. AR (1000) - Georgia, USA - JUL 10, 2013
This is similar to a Guinness, but not quite as full-bodied. Flavor of roasted malts. mansquito (6514) - Nueva York, New York, USA - JUL 5, 2013
World of Beer, Arlington nitro-tap: Pours black with a really creamy nitro head. Aroma is light coffee and chocolate, as would be expected. Taste is slightly bitter, chocolatey, coffeeish, not sweet. Body is exactly as it should be. A good session stout. SSSteve (4006) - - JUL 1, 2013
draft. black under a perfect, whipped, tan nitro head that lasted throughout the pint. roasty aroma. flavors of milk chocolate and mild roast. creamy palate with almost no carbonation. very solid effort that is perfectly to style. magsinva (1326) - Virginia, USA - JUN 18, 2013
Tap at taco Mac Sandy spring - pours like a classic Guinness, slowly settling into a finger of tan head and pitch brew. Aroma is toasty. Taste is sweet with a dry finish. Palate is a bit thin, but very drinkable example of the style.

Draft at Taco Mac Sandy Springs. Pours black with a half inch of khaki foam. This one’s served on nitro so there’s a lot of carbonation. Nice roasted malt on the nose. Lots of roast on the tongue and finishes crisp and clean. It’s not quite Guinness but its close. Foxbush (2040) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - JUN 9, 2013
UPDATED: JUN 11, 2013 Draft at Coasters Elizabeth City, NC This was the best beer of the month. After golf we stopped at Coasters for a beer. This stout was amazing. The stout poured like a Guinness deep black liquid with a very thick creamy fine bubble head. This stout laced all the way down the glass. The aroma was of roasted malt and caramel malts. The velvety texture of the stout was as smooth as any I have ever had. The medium body stout had average carbonation. The flavor was Guinness-like, roast malt and coffee notes with licorice. I think this is equal or better than Guinness. We never wanted the beer to end. I hope to find more of this winner. Tac (157) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - MAY 16, 2013
Pours thick brownish head, decent lacing. Aromas of some chocolate, roasted malt. Taste is quite dry, slightly bitter. JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - MAY 16, 2013
On tap at Tyler’s, Raleigh. Dark brown pour with ruby highlights, soapy carbonation gives it a slightly thinnish look. Soft roasted malts in the nose, hints of Tootsie roll, and slight yeastiness. Mouthfeel is definitely thin, and it’s too bad this wasn’t the cask pour that I’ve seen from other reviews. Lightly nutty flavors along with roasts, dry (but not especially lengthy) finish. Pretty underwhelming. BeerHawk (1810) - Huntsville, Alabama, USA - MAY 12, 2013
Draft. Dark brown with ruby highlights in the glass with a creamy tan head. Roasted malt aroma. The flavor found roasted malt with a backing of smoke. Light body, smooth, and a roasted malt aftertaste.
