Bottle. It pours a muddy orange/brown color with a small head. The aroma is super oxidized. Lots of prune, raisin, caramel, sherry and hints of cocoa. The flavor is the same. Muddled and oxidized. Prunes and almonds. Alcohol is felt pretty strongly. Stale on the palate with low carbonation. I’m not sure how old this bottle is, but it has not aged well. nimbleprop (8297) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - OCT 23, 2014
22oz bottle I’ve had in the cellar for a few years. Pours a murky, deep brown with some frothy head that settles like Guinness at first and then faded into a lacing, creamy beige. Nose has raisins, brandy, butterscotch, toffee, malt, some bananas foster. Flavor is big with butterscotch, sweet but not cloying, toffee, rum, brandy, raisins, dates too, a little Fig Newton, a bit oxidized. Full bodied, with a touch of alcohol burn but fairly smooth. Surprised this held up this well, but I also bet this is peaking. slowrunner77 (11930) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 4, 2014
"i agree with Cybercat on this one - they nailed the style, and 5 months after release seems to be perfect. nice bready aroma, some sweetness and a touch of hops and spice. Smooth, sharp but full. Alcohol evident, but pleasantly warming, not hot. This is exactly what i was hoping for!" Travlr (24315) - Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - SEP 23, 2013

22oz bottle $13 at Beverage World in Ft. Oglethorp, Georgia. Alas there was no Golden ticket in my box. Dark brown color, looks like an old ale to me. Smells boozy, caramel, boozy, malty. Tastes almost exactly like North Coast Old Stock Ale in my opinion which is a very good thing. Booze in the taste, raisin, caramel, some toffee. The booziness held back drinkability a bit but this was a very good effort from Terrapin and I like the fund-raising aspect a lot.

Great! The nose is very sweet with notes of caramel, vanilla, licorice, and maybe just a touch of butter. The beer is dark brown with a small tan head. The taste is again very sweet with malty flavors, brown sugar and caramel, vanilla, and a little licorice spice in the back. The beer is full bodied, a little oily, but finishes with a nice dry bitterness for such a sweet beer. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Drake (13654) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - APR 24, 2012
Bomber shared by Butters at Slutfest 3, Richmond, VA, 4/21/12. Pours a clear copper color with a thin head. Decent head retention. Aroma of big sugar notes, tea, smoke and banana. The taste is toffee, brown sugar, anise and bitter hops. Medium bodied. tia (2160) - Sandston, Virginia, USA - APR 21, 2012
Bottle @ SF. Looks like murky iron water. For some reason it smells chocolaty and lemony. Tastes sweet and a little bitter. L light carbonation. Butters (4059) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - APR 21, 2012
