Pours a coffee black with a little tan head. Aromas of chocolate milk and some yeast. Taste is big time milk chocolate with some slight bittering hops, but nothing tastes artificial. Extremely drinkable stout, and one of the better offerings Ive had from Terrapin.

From a bottle. Pours opaque almost black with thin tan head. Smells woody, peaty, smokey. Tastes like coffee, chocolate, brown sugar. Medium body and medium carbonation.

12 oz bottle. Pours a dark brown color with a small beige head that has fair retention. The aroma is medium in strength with mocha, chocolates and roasted barley grains. The flavor features cocoa, mocha and milk chocolate. The palate is full and smooth with soft carbonation. Finishes a bit short with lingering sweetened cocoa. Overall: Decent sweet stout.

12 ounce bottle. Thanks Mark! Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of milk chocolate and a bit of coffee. Taste is milk chocolate, vanilla, lactose, and some coffee. Mild chocolate makes this brew easy to drink. Nice.

Bottle thanks to Erin. Pours with a clear, deep brown hued body with a tan head. Aromas are nutty, earthy, leathery, dark fruits, cocoa, and a bit ashy. Flavors are of milk chocolate, nutty, cocoa, rich chocolate nutty. Fuller carbonation, medium bodied.

Dark chocolate color with a foamy head. Aroma is pleasant that allows the malt and hops smells to come wonderfully through. Taste is smooth and sweet like a milk stout should be. This is truely an awesome beer.

Pours stout black lots of carbonation. Slight chocolate and roasty coffee aroma. The lactose and milk flavor blended with the chocolate is very upfront with a nice roasty backbone. A really good chocolate milk stout. My first Terrapin experience and I was not disappointed.

Decent sized dark brown head of fine bubbles that reduce slowly. Milk chocolate aroma with some roasted grains, mild coffee and crusty biscuits. Color is basically black. Flavor is more chocolate, roasted grains, toast and cough syrup. Rather dry and a bit gritty mouthfeel as if there was actually cocoa powder in the brew. Mild swetness and very easy drinking. A pretty good and tasty stout.

I poured a 12oz bottle into a snifter. There was no freshness date, though its clearly marked as a 2012 [winter] seasonal leading me to believe it was 4-6 months old.

Appearance: Dark black hue, completely opaque, no visible carbonation. Forms a small, light brown, foamy head which almost completely disappears and leaves no lacing.

Smell: Similar to a chocolate candy bar and a hint of dairy.

Taste: Terrapin Moo-Hoo Chocolate Milk Stout purports to be a classier chocolate stout using cocoa nibs and shells and not just chocolate flavoring. And while its indeed a good beer, it doesnt seem to be anywhere near gourmet quality. If you like chocolate candy bar flavor youll get it in this beer.

A light sweetness up front followed by a strong surge of familiar supermarket chocolate candy plus an underlying bitterness. A short, dry, bitterness at the crest of the palate followed by a slight tang or sourness (due to an old bottle?). Theres additional chocolate flavor on the finish, but its quite mild with almost no aftertaste, unfortunately. So while this beer may not be a mind-blower, its definitely tasty while in the mouth and fun to drink.

Drinkability: Sometimes chocolate stouts can be so rich theyre sippers, but Terrapin Moo-Hoo Chocolate Milk Stout is on the milder side so its easy to drink quickly (maybe a little too quickly). The mouthfeel is on the thinner end, mostly tepid, and is really easy going down. At 6% ABV it seems a bit inefficient - like it doesnt take full advantage of its strength. Though that makes it much easier to quaff and all the more tempting to drink multiple servings.
