Poured from tap. Hint of chocolates aroma and roasted coffee taste. Superb palate experience. A step above Left Hand Milk Stout. Cheers!

Bottle. Oily dark chocolate nose somewhere between viscous and sultry, pleasant dark roast and bouncy malt but its really all about the cocoa nibs. Pitch pour with a light brown head. Not too crisp, medium-full body, mild roast with strong chocolate/cocoa nibs, lightly acidic but not really any bitterness, light sweetness not overpowering. Passing grade but unspectacular.

Bottle to glass mug. Pours an opaque dark brown with a sparse tan head. You can smell semisweet chocolate, and malts. Flavors of malts, and cocoa. Very sweet. Leaves a residual oily mouthfeel with a bit of bitter tang.

On the (my) Tenth Day of Christmas, the beer gods gave to me... Well a little late here due to a bad bout of the flu. Took out most of the house. But we carry on. Pours a dark brown color with a tan foam head. Aroma of roast, vanilla, and hints of chocolate. Has a light sweet caramel taste with roast and chocolate notes. Tasty. Solid milk stout.

Pours a very dark brown with a medium-sized head. Very delicious - you can definitely taste the chocolate. Some coffee and nut notes as well. Slightly smoky aroma.

Dark dark brown with a modest mocha head with nice lacing. Aroma of cocoa, roast, and vanilla. Taste is milky chocolate; somewhat sweet. Creamy, milly, medium body.

Reviewed 12/23/2012. 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a very dark brown color. Its not quite as ultra-opaque as the WnB I had just before this, but its still dark enough to block out the light. The head is a two finger mocha shade with meh retention. There is a bit of lace left on the glass, at least. S: Surprisingly nutty in terms of aroma. There also seems to be a combination of roasted and charred malts, as well. I dont really pick up a lot of chocolate on the nose. T: Wait, did I say that I dont pick up a lot of chocolate aromatically? Because the chocolate is really battering the palate here. It opens the flavor profile like a wrecking ball - almost as if Terrapin melted a 70% dark cocoa bar into the beer before bottling it. The midtaste brings a lot of lactic cream in a balanced manner. Its sweet enough to make this a slow sipper rather than a chugger or even a gulper. At least the lactose never comes across as being acidic, sour, or harsh. M: The body comes across as thicker and more syrupy than it really is, which I would attribute to the finishing cream flavor. Theres some finishing astringency, too, but its not dry enough finish-wise to balance it out. Carbonation is mediocre. O: I feel like milk stouts are the Tito Jackson of the stout family - but this one hits my chocolate tooth enough to separate it from the pack. Totally rock solid as long as you dont expect it to be WnB.

Chocolate aromas with a touch of roast. Deep black with a full tan head. Sweet with chocolate notes. Full bodied with a sweet finish.
