Reviewed 12/23/2012. 12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a very dark brown color. Its not quite as ultra-opaque as the WnB I had just before this, but its still dark enough to block out the light. The head is a two finger mocha shade with meh retention. There is a bit of lace left on the glass, at least. S: Surprisingly nutty in terms of aroma. There also seems to be a combination of roasted and charred malts, as well. I dont really pick up a lot of chocolate on the nose. T: Wait, did I say that I dont pick up a lot of chocolate aromatically? Because the chocolate is really battering the palate here. It opens the flavor profile like a wrecking ball - almost as if Terrapin melted a 70% dark cocoa bar into the beer before bottling it. The midtaste brings a lot of lactic cream in a balanced manner. Its sweet enough to make this a slow sipper rather than a chugger or even a gulper. At least the lactose never comes across as being acidic, sour, or harsh. M: The body comes across as thicker and more syrupy than it really is, which I would attribute to the finishing cream flavor. Theres some finishing astringency, too, but its not dry enough finish-wise to balance it out. Carbonation is mediocre. O: I feel like milk stouts are the Tito Jackson of the stout family - but this one hits my chocolate tooth enough to separate it from the pack. Totally rock solid as long as you dont expect it to be WnB.

Pint night at Pazzos. Poured black with tan head. Aroma is all cocoa. Bit of a copper taste to it kept me from really enjoying it.

Bottle, 12 fl oz. Chocolate, and very much so indeed. Had this with cheese, would possibly have been great with cake.

Pours a dark brown with a short, rich, clinging, tan head. Robust chocolate milk nose. Hot chocolate and bittersweet chocolate flavors. Full, chalky mouthfeel. Fun brew.

Pours black with ample brown head. Aroma is sweet and smoky milk chocolate. Flavor is smooth and very reminiscent of chocolate milk with only a tiny tinge of alcohol burn.

Bottle from Systis. Black with small beige head. Chocolate milkshake with a hint of smoke. Sweet vanilla with lactose and roast malt. Strangely tastes more like a vanilla shake. Slightly sticky with medium palate. A nice example of bottled candy.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2016 Tap at Savory Grain. Dark with tan head. Very chocolatey. I get the chocolate milk thing. Too much sweet cling on.

Black beer with White head. Aroma has notes of lactose and dark chocolate. Taste is medium sweet light bitter. Finish a bit too short. Usually dont like milk stouts but this is good.

Jet black pour with a full four finger head that dissipates quickly. Nice lacings. Aromas of dark chocolate and roasted malts. Taste follows the nose with some added milk chocolate flavor and a slightly bitter finish. Thin but creamy mouth feel with little carbonation. Great sweet milk stout on par with the best of the style (left handed milk stout, Samuel Smiths organic chocolate stout). Dessert beer. Must try if you like the sweet stuff.

Keg at Willards Tap House, Largo, Florida. Dark brown, opaque. A little bit of cream-coloured head with lots of lacing. Light aroma: Ovaltine and milky instant coffee. Sweet and creamy taste with notes of grape juice and Yoo-hoo (and the name just dawns on me). Later on bitter hop invades to temper the taste. Clean crisp finish which accentuates the sharp hop. Milk with star anise in the aftertaste. Enjoyable milk stout.
