Hazy golden with a thick white head. Aroma is grapefruit hops with some floral notes. Flavor is assertively bitter and oddly a little flat. Somewhat tinny, but not unpleasant. Oddly, though not surprisingly based on the idea behind this beer, I enjoyed this more in the can while grilling rather than inside poured in a glass. I think it loses too much carbonation and gets a little bitter. Wife: 3.1

Can from a friend. Pours an orange-yellow with a white head. Nose is sweet malt, some light citrusy hops, and some dryness on the back end. Flavor hits with some caramel in the malt character and nice citrusy hops. Not my favorite, but for a session IPA, its definitely up there with what it can do: lots of malt and a nice dose of hops for session IPA.

Can. Clear light orange gold color. Slight haze. Aroma is pretty hoppy, lighter malt backbone. Some floral hop notes, hand soap. Hop forward flavor, citrus fruity. Dry finish and lingering bitterness. Orange pith.

Can from West Side. Pours a clear gold with a finger of foam. Lots of juicy citrus with a touch of tropical fruit. Light and crushable. Good bitterness, but not overly so. Best of the KY available terrapins. Noice!

A middle-of-the-road example of a middle-of-the-road style. Starts with a sudden burst of grapefruit and pine, adds a teensy-weensy malt backbone hinting at grain and biscuit, then fades into a fizzy, bitter finish. Not a big fan of the session IPA in the first place, but I guess RecreationAle is a serviceable take on the style. Eh.

Can. Pours a clear light orange with a thick bubbly white head. Aroma of earthy hops, grassy hops, garlic, bready malt. Flavor of grassy hops, citrus, grapefruit, floral hops, earthy hops. Light, very hoppy, very sessionable. Tasty beer! 7/4/8/4/14 (3.7/5)

12 oz can at the Boathouse at Snowshoe Mountain, WV This was a nice addition to their limited selection of beers. The ale poured a clear gold color with white foamy head. Floral hops and crystal maps greets you. Excellent session ale. The taste of grapefruit rind and pine resin are experienced. The ale has a medium body and average carbonation. Clean finish with some lingering bitterness. Perfect ale for skiing.

Tried this for the first time in the winter, but more of a summer beer. Bought it for a card game, with mostly bud/miller light drinkers. One buddy likes IPAs so grabbed the Terrapin IPA-mix pack. Good for the occasion, or for something light to pair with a meal. Has some flavor and hops packed in there...but definitely on the lighter side.

Can to pint glass. Stamped 3/1/17 so assumed 3,1/2 months old. A: Poured a nice pillowy beige head of 1/2" which held for a few minutes and never completely dissipated. Pale clear pinkish gold with a few bubbles and spotty lace. S: Pine and faint orange over a background of honeysuckle or caramel. T: Bitter and woody at first with pine then a hint of orange pith and zest finishing. No flavor especially dominant. M: Feels even lighter than 4.7 with soft but crisp carbonation and slightly resinous finish. O: Another pretty nice SIPA. Well balanced taste and sensible price. Not outstanding but well worth a buy.
