We Consider this an extreme version of an American Pale Ale. It has a very up front floral and citrus aroma from a late cascade addition and dry hopping with Amarillo. This beer also has a big malt background to balance the bitterness of the hops. The rye malt cleans up your palette after you swallow so the hop flavor does not stick in your mouth too long.

Bottle, from a case brought straight from Georgia by my friend John, not on Ratebeer though he ought to be. Warm amber with a healthy cap of fine off-white. Candied orange and spicy papaya nose. Brisk spicy tropical hop flavor with a complimenting toffee caramel malt sweetness. Full bodied enough to be satisfying, light enough to be morish. Modest carbonation that suits this beer very well. Lingering mint notes. As much as I liked this, I think Traci liked it even more. Distinctively nice pale ale in a crowded field of pale ales.

Bottle @ Brewhouse Cafe, Atlanta. Dark golden with a thin head. Crisp and hoppy over any stated rye, but there is a hint of gritty malts in this respect. All still very drinkable.

Can shared at a tasting at Max’ place. Clear gold. A little old and slightly oxidized aroma, with rye bread and black pepper notes. Rye, sweet taste, oxidized. Medium body, bready, a little honeydew finish.

Hopmaestro (1773) - Örebro, SWEDEN - OCT 12, 2016
From can: Aroma is malty and slight dusty. Weak floral notes and rye bread. Taste is better than aroma. Slightly sweet malts that is followed by soft hops and quite raw bitterness. In the end rather weak overall.

jksipa (1022) - Newmarket, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 27, 2016
Can at MS Ignite. Medium amber with an off white head (consumed from the can). Nose is citrus and some spice. Medium bitter over a light malt base and a good amount of rye spice. Mouth is medium with average carbonation. 8-/3/7+/3+/15
