Draft from my house: keg is multiple months old poured into a dimple mug
pours extremely black and opaque with a large creamy espresso tan head that last for ever. very rich malt aroma with a big licorice and dark chocolate aromas, small hints of some roast coffee but not over powering. very inviting nose. big thick chewy mouth feel and a nice warming and smooth drinking beer. great chocolate flavors with hints of roast and coffee and nice bright licorice moments. extremely smooth and creamy for an impy stout. excellent drinker and has aged well
Ar: Rasin, char, and hot alcohol. Ap: Deep brown, opaque; small brown head with low retention, leaves a thin foam ring and a touch of nebulous foam; T: Raisinand rum, a touch of cocoa and burnt caramel; sweet up front with medium-low bitterness; boozy finish. P: Medium-full body with moderate carbonation, finishes medium-dry. O: Some interesting, complex flavors, but just too much booziness to be enjoyable. oh6gdx (26482) - Vasa, FINLAND - OCT 31, 2015
Draught (backlog). Pitch black colour, small foamy off-white head that leaves lace. Aroma is chocolate, liquorice, tobacco, mild toasted malts. Flavour is toffee, chocolate, coffee, liquorice and mild tobacco and ashes to it. Homer321 (5006) - Melboring, Florida, USA - APR 18, 2015
Draft at TBBT. Pitch black. No head. Aroma is a muted coffee and roast. Taste is pretty much the same. Moderately butter but not astringent. Sweetness comes out as it warms. Still pretty solid damn beer. SpringsLicker (3613) - Tennessee, USA - OCT 19, 2014
Black pour with a minimal mocha head.
Cold, the aroma has some espresso and soy. As it warms, some molasses comes out.
The flavor is sweet, with lots of roasted malts, which adds a burnt bitterness.
Espresso. No hops anywhere.
Decent Imp Stout , but this won’t run with the big dogs such as Expedition. Darkmagus82 (2302) - - JUL 30, 2014

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – Served a thick black brew with a two finger tan head. The head faded over about a 1 minutes time to give a nice level of lacing.
Smell – The nose was heavy of coffee and roasted notes. With this was a good strong chocolate and sweet molasses and vanilla smell. Quite nice.
Taste – The taste begins with sweet molasses, roasted malt, and chocolate notes. As it advances more the sweetness shifts more towards a vanilla flavored sweetness. Toward the middle the level of sweetness fades slightly as well and notes of some coffee and espresso meeting the tongue. The chocolate and roasted flavors then intensify at the very end and mix with a not overpowering alcohol flavor to level a nice pleasant flavor on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – A nice thick and turbid body with a lower level of carbonation. Great for the style of brew as all the roasty and boozy flavors can really soak into the tongue.
Overall – One tasty, thick, and warming brew with great flavors. Go for it if you have a chance.

Bottle at home with my dad. Pour is deep brown with a frothy tan head and great lacing. Caramel, raisins, toffee, plums, figs, bread, light cocoa, coffee, and earthy hops in the aroma. Taste is bourbon, slightly oxidized, caramel, toffee, figs, earthy, light alcohol, and vanilla with a toasted bitter finish. Spock mouthfeel with soft carbonation. 8/04/2011: Terrapin Side Project #13 Big Daddy Vlady’s Russian Imperial Stout... Aroma: Doesn’t give away much, but there’s a load of caramelized malt with a hint of char. Appearance: Really, really dark brown with a small, fleeting tan-colored head. Flavor: Smooth, silky caramelized maltiness with a good level of roastiness, silky espresso, splash of almond extract and vanilla, and an even resin-citrus hops running throughout; overall bitterness is mild and well-integrated; Palate: Medium-full body, really smooth; somewhat sticky on the lips. Overall: Very nice; the hops open up as the beer sits and warms a bit, but this detracts in my opinion.

Clear dark black colour with a small, fizzy, virtually none lacing, fully diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, wood, caramel, chocolate. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, chocolat, wood. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
Had it at the Chicago Craft Beer Festival 6/22/13. Black color, cocoa aroma, very forceful bitter taste.
