22oz bottle. Small tan head atop black body. Aroma is moderately sweet, cocoa, light bittersweet chocolate. Taste is moderately sweet, cocoa/bittersweet chocolate, light roast. Light-medium body, light stickiness. MadIndian (2743) - Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA - OCT 11, 2013
On draft At Isaacs. Nice black pour. Body was slightly thin, but it appeared thicker. The aroma was an awesome blend of chocolate, cream and coacoa. The taste was sweet, roast, chocolate and cinnamon. Well done. GTAEgeek (2217) - Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA - OCT 9, 2013
22 oz. bottle. Black pour, with a small, tan head. The aroma is molasses, semi-sweet chocolate, light coffee, cinnamon, and a little peat. The flavor is very sweet, and a little acerbic. Medium body, sticky, and vinegar-ish. Overall, this is a mediocre chocolate porter. Jamesthebrit (421) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - OCT 6, 2013
A: Aroma is light but good. Smooth chocolate.
A: Looks ok. Head retention is ok. Color is like dark brown.
T: Light. Chocolate is subtle (contrary to the description). A little spicy on the finish or so. Too light.
P: Light... watery... little flavor development. Would be a good beer to intro someone to dark beer.
Overall this beer is ok... it’s very light and the chocolate is subtle. It’s easy drinking but definately did not live up to the description. It was sitting in the fridge next to founders porter and this beer just doesn’t compare.

Bottle at the house. Aroma is big time chocolate with light roast. That’s about it. Flavor is the same - tons of chocolate and some roasted notes. Palate is average to a bit thin. Carbonation is medium. Good beer. deaconmike (470) - Roswell, Georgia, USA - SEP 27, 2013
Poured from a bomber into a tulip. Nearly jet black with a mocha head. Aroma is roast and chocolate. The taste is roast, chocolate, ash, lactose and a bit metallic. Heavy on the sweetness, but has a slightly dry bitter finish. Body is light/medium with soft carbonation. Overall, a nice twist on a porter. rbrazell (1698) - Florida, USA - SEP 22, 2013
Bottle from New Leaf. Black pour with a a brown head. Rich chocolatey aroma with notes of dark malts and cream. Dry, roasted malt flavor up front fading into chocolate with touches of prunes. Slightly bitter finish. Not bad. ben4321 (6504) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - SEP 22, 2013

Aroma: The nose is dark chocolate, roast, a little smoke, and some earth as well
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color, with a thin, light, beige colored head and drippy lace
Flavor: Tastes lightly sweet/chocolate, but more so roasty, notes of earthy bitterness and smoke
Palate: The body is light-medium, a touch thin, with average carbonation, and a dry, smoky finish
I thought this was a solid one, although the mouthfeel does leave a touch to be desired. It just comes off as a little thin and dull in the feel. As for the rest of the beer, the chocolate is present, obviously, but the roast dominates it, and the smoke and earth act as nice bit characters as well. There’s a nice foundation here, but it could use a little work.
Bottle. Deep ruby maroon color, big fluffy tan head. Aroma of chocolate milk, coffee, dark fruit. Taste is brandied raspberry candy covered in chocolate. Tasty. Sweet and dessert-like.
