I’m trying to get back into the game hence my first rating for 2011. And here we go! Hazed light golden pour, lots of brown sediment floating in cascading waves with accompanying bubbles. Half inch white head. All poured from a 1.5 year old bomber from a not-so-recent trade: Nose of orange peel and oils, over-ripened apricot and pineapple, maybe papaya, and definitely some sugar. Flavors are near-robust, but lack that balance of hops vs. alc. that I’m yearning for. Maybe it’s too much of a malt sweetness, I can’t put my finger on it just yet. Well, it’s an old bottle, so... Light alcohol finish, but my insides feel nice and warm. Drinkability: I expected more. Pairing: Rich mango with Thai sticky rice. Rebuy: Needs a rerate. Yes. #473 on 09092011 -DG.
Poured flat orange brown from bottle. Malty predominantly over the citrus. Not too bad. Nejhleader (1574) - Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 24, 2015
A nice sweet malty hop aroma. A nice dark fruit with well balanced citrusy hops. Good stuff aumentm (452) - North Carolina, USA - APR 23, 2015
This double IPA has alot of hops and has a real rocking taste. This is one of the better IPAs I know of. John25 (1291) - Middletown, New Jersey, USA - APR 22, 2015
Bottle 2014 vintage. I’m not sure of the bottling date but, this has to be over 6 months old at least. Iced tea burnt orange. Malt forward with tea and pine on the aroma. The taste adds bitterness, honey, and sweet caramel malt. The mouthfeel is rich and sticky. This one is such a big iipa that some age has treated it well. Very different from when it was fresh but, still very good. -- Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone Getbetter (1033) - East Palo Alto, California, USA - MAR 27, 2015
From a tap at the brewery. The pour is a unfiltered orange sweet and malty double IPA . Stricky medium body.

Bottle, yup I drank it straight out of the bottle -- A very malty IPA, a strong base that just has a super thick resinous mouthfeel from all the hops used in it. Very pleasant, definitely a good sipper. Aurelius (5496) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - OCT 15, 2014
Sweetish, fruity, caramel aroma. Very foggy, orange tan brew with a thinnish ivory head. Drier than it smells, not over bitter, starchy malt flavor, some off vegetal notes. Moderately sweet, fairly acidic. Sturdy mouthfeel. On tap, Whole Foods, Tallahassee. ajtrupp (340) - Broomfield, Colorado, USA - OCT 10, 2014
All the numbers on this one seem off. I'm surprised it's 10.8%, I'm surprised it's 110 IBUs, and I'm surprised it's only rated 3.7. Higher in my book.

This was awesome. Hoppy and boozy, with a punchy citrus hippy presence. Really lovely and a beer that I would love to have more often. DWestrick (803) - Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA - SEP 13, 2014
bottle. Just did not like this imperial IPA. Could have been a bad batch, but major alcohol present - not refined at all. Disappointing
