COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Volume 19: Mosaic Single Hopped Rye Ale. Brewer Spike has an affinity towards rye malt, so this comes a no surprise. Freshly harvested from Hop Breeding Company, LLC in Yakima Valley, the hops used in Side Project 19 Mosaic came freshly picked from the fields of Perrault Farms, to our brewery, and into your glass. Known as hop HBC 369 before official naming in 2011, Mosaic is the daughter of Simcoe (YCR 14) and a Nugget-derived male. To get the best of all worlds from this new Humulus lupus, we used 100% Mosaic throughout the brewing process to utilize all the flavor and aroma that this world-class hop has to offer.

Great beer. The aroma is very citrus hoppy with notes of bread. The appearance is slightly cloudy and reddish. The taste is smooth citrus hops with a balanced pepperiness.

Pours a clear ruby red with tan head. A citrus hop and fruit aroma. A caramel malt, fruit, citrus hop, and tropical fruit taste. A bitter hop and dry grain aftertaste.

12oz can. 5/17/17 code date. Appearance: Deep ruby reddish Amber, brilliantly clear, with a thick light khaki head and nice lacing Aroma: Light toasted malt, some fresh cut grass, and finishes with a strong mango. Really nice. Taste: Rich toasted and peppery rye maltiness dominates the flavor profile, leading into a strong but balanced resinous and citrus bitterness. Mouthfeel: Medium to heavy body for the style, with a moderate carbonation. Finish: Strong bitterness lingers, with a touch of dry roast Overall: A really well balanced IPA. Brilliant appearance and a complex aroma blends the malt backbone with a fresh grass and mango aroma. Rye and toasted maltiness balances the aggressive bitterness perfectly. Well done

Bitter, resinous rye IPA, relying more on the piney and floral notes of the Mosaic to power the dry back end. Nice citric middle, though, one that balances out the IBUs and leads to a deliciously spicy rye fade. Caramel malt sweetness adds a nice padding, but the finish is pure hop vengeance. Solid.

Terrapin Mosaic has a medium, ivory head, a clear, brick red appearance, bubble streams, and lots of lacing left behind, on the glass. The aroma is of tannins, red malts, some very faint rye spice, and bread crust. The flavor is of sweet, red malts, rye spice, bread crust, and substantial, but, in no way harsh, bitterness. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Terrapin Mosaic finishes crisp and easy going. RJT

Pours a light golden amber with fluffy head. Aromas of fruits and hops. Fruity notes with a nice grapefruit bitterness in the finish.

On tap at the Bonnaroo Brooers tent. I am assuming this is the same beer, it was listed as "Mosaic Red" in the advertisement, and the Mosaic Red IPA redirects here. Very nice beer. Has the deep caramel malt vibe of a red yet with the bright floral Mosaic hops.

Aroma is super hoppy. Flavor is spicy, hoppy, and strong citrus. This one is just crushable. Incredible beer by terrapin. Pours copper with a thin tan head. Had at my place in Myrtle beach

Tap at Jack of the Wood with commonshawn, rosskyle, and samadouche. Pint glass. Appearance is a little bit amber and golden hued. Minimal head. Nose is mostly pine with some malty caramel, toasted brown sugar notes. Taste has a healthy malty backbone offsetting a pleasant hoppy pine and citrus characteristic. I think the rye plays a pretty significant role. Mouthfeel has a bite to it and a well rounded quality that Im enjoying. Finish is pretty decent too with a malty sweetness.

Im really diggin Mosaic hops this year, they seem to be in a lot of new IPAs and for good reason...they kick ass. The earthen, fresh hops sit well on a healthy bed of rye malt...crushed a 6 pk. of these in one night and could have had more. Tasty beer.
