Taking the Orient and the rest of the world by storm, Krunkles returns! In this edition of the bearded IPA brewers saga, Samurai Krunkles, as he was once known in the Far East, pulls out all the hops from his katanas sheath to make this Asian flared brew. While traveling around the Pacific in a souped up rickshaw pulled by his trusty side kick Cato, Krunkles uncovered unique brewing ingredients such as jasmine rice, jasmine green tea and the finest ginger the Orient had to offer for this Samurai masters ale. I enjoyed this more than I expected to, to be honest. The green tea and ginger really stand out in both the aroma and taste, and it really balances out the hop bitterness. Pretty refreshing, actually.

From a 22 oz bottle shared at home. Pours almost clear dark god with a white head. Pine aroma. Notes of vicks vaporub and spruce. Initial bitter finish jousting with a sweetish floral hop flavor.

Pours thick, hazy orange amber with a white, small bubbly head. The aroma is pleasant, sweet green tea notes almost like honey. The flavor is bring unique flavors of the rice, and then sweet and lightly bittered hops come in as well on a somewhat crisp body. The ending is dry.

From the 11/2012 3R6P tasting. +++ Sampled from a brown bottle this beer poured a bright golden color with a small white head that faded and left minimal lacing. The aroma was tart and must citrus, bubblegum and pinecones. The flavor was strong pine, resin and pinecones with notes of spruce and pepper. Long finish of pine, resin and spruce. Medium body.

Bomber. Poured cloudy orangish-golden with a creamy off-white head. The aroma picked up juicy mango, orange, and herbal notes over caramel and lesser biscuity notes.. ginger came through as it warmed.. interesting stuff. The flavor found bitter tea and orange zest over mostly biscuity malt.. tea and ginger really ramped up on the back and through the finish.. not my favorite flavors, but interesting and well-done. Medium-bodied with a lot of tea character on the palate.. moderate carbonation.. solid brew.

Tallahassee, Fl - Liquor Loft - 22 oz bottle. Pours a sparkling light copper with s sticky fluffy white head that leaves plenty of lacing. Minty aroma with hints of green tea. Flavor has a fruity backbone with a pear-like essence. Some ginger notes makes their way through, some juicy fruit gum, a bit of unknown spice. Mouthfeel has a nice spritz to it.
