COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Terrapin Side Project #9: The Dark Side, a Belgian Style Imperial Stout. Come on over to "The Dark Side" for the latest brew in the Terrapin "Side Project" series. Brewed with evil intentions, this Belgian Style Imperial Stout is made with copious amounts of dark grains that make this beer as dark as the underside of Vader’s cape. "The Dark Side" is fermented with a unique Belgian yeast strain which sets this Imperial Stout light years ahead of its time.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours black with a vague orange hue. Very sweet dark roast malts and loads of prunes in the nose. Solid body, sweet - and almost sticky - hard roast malts and prunes. Absolutely no bitterness. A little cloying actually. 120910

Bottle at first DC tasting of 2010, thanks nimbleprop. Dark brown color with a scant head but good lacing. Aroma of chocolate and roasted coffee, with a taste that mirrors the aroma. Nice body. Smooth and slightly sweet, but well-balanced. Nice.

Bottle, 22oz. A very dark brown body is topped by a small, beige head. Chocolate, coffee and something reminiscent of molasses in the aroma. A whiff of alcohol too. The flavor has a pleasant addition of resiny hops trying to bring some balance, but it’s still more on the dark malty side with chocolate, coffee and a touch of molasses. Full body, soft carbonation. Tasteful and pleasant. 111209
