Ok so this is the second citra hopped beer of the day and goodness is it bright, light, and in your face floral! This is clean and bright, great palate even though it looks thin. The nose is the beer though, soo good! One of the best! Outkast aproved, ATL style! bhensonb (15601) - Woodland, California, USA - DEC 23, 2012
Thanks to mixmasterob for this bomber! Pours hazy copper with a creamy/frothy off-white head. Aroma is very citrus. Not quite cat piss, but suggestive. Med body. Carb is almost chewy. Flavor is a nice malt backbone with a lot of citrus, and that moves into rind. Finish is dry, bitter and citrus rind. Not quite grapefruit - but close. Very fresh and tasty. Amber color with a thick white head. Aroma is fresh pine hops with just a hint of citrus. Flavor is fairly strong piney, slightly oily hops right up front with a strong malt finish. Vague flavors of caramel or toffee if the aftertaste. The body is reminiscent of the Terrapin Rye without the bit of the rye and a much fresher, hoppier flavor. Very solid beer, could be pretty easy to session with as opposed to some of the bigger fresh hops IPAs. Glouglouburp (6103) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 20, 2012
DISCLAIMER: I bought this bottle late 2012 from a PA store with a high turn around but I’m not certain it was a 2012 bottle. Tasted tired to me. Or maybe it is a lame beer, or maybe my bottle was mishandled before I bought it. Or maybe I was sold a 2011 bottle? I didn’t know there were different vintages and did not inspect the bottle for vintage indication..arone12 (932) - Maryland, USA - DEC 19, 2012
How: Bottle 22oz. Consumed a few weeks after purchase (I thought it was relatively fresh, but now I’m not sure anymore).
The look: Medium cloudy golden body topped by a small beige head with good retention.
In long: Nose is weird subdued dank hops pellet, a bit of vegetables, bread dough and light tropical fruits. This is far from a vibrant aromatic IPA, this beer smelled rather muted and tired. Taste is creamy doughy caramelized cereals, a bit of fluffy yeast, wet basement, a bit bloody/meaty character, soft cookies, vegetal notes, leafy hops, distant tropical fruits. Rather low bitterness level for the style. Kind of a strange beer, certainly not what I was expecting from a fresh hop ale. Again, not sure if I got an off bottle or was sold an old bottle. Will buy this again eventually and I may move this rating. Buy beer, drink beer, enter rating on ratebeer, repeat and repeat and repeat over and over again, my life is so repetitive that sometimes I wonder if I really exist of if I’m just a character in the game The Sims (an early demo without all the features implemented).
Smells fairly hoppy and citrusy. Nice orange color with an off white head. Nice floral taste with some orange and grape fruit flavors.

Bomber. Poured clear, medium golden with a short off-white head. The aroma picked up juicy orange, pineapple, and other fruity hops over sweet malts.. the hops starred. The flavor found sweet biscuity malts surrounded by fresh, dank mixed fruit and pineapple bitterness.. more herbal and a touch medicinal on the finish.. not quite as cohesive as the nose indicated. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation on the palate.. hops were very fresh.. OK feel and flow. SpringsLicker (3663) - Tennessee, USA - DEC 18, 2012
Pours slightly hazy dark orange with an off white head.
Nice soft complex hop aroma. I’m not too familiar with Citra’s aspects, but there is a mute pine resin, some pineapple/mango. Not as much of the grapefruit/ citrus, more tropical.
The flavor is lightly bitter with a good malt balance. Very soft and smooth palate. rangerred (989) - Johnson City, Tennessee, USA - DEC 17, 2012
Poured into a pint glass out of a 22oz bomber.
Pours a slightly hazy deep copper with barely a tiny head. Decent lacing though so I give it a couple points for that.
The aroma on this is just out of this world. Tons of citrus in the way of orange and mango with a little bit of pine thrown in. No malt is really detectable but that is ok with this kind of hop aroma!
The flavor is where things go south. The hops are much more muted than I was hoping. Orange and a little pine is still there but in small quantities. There is a sweet orange candy base but no bread or caramel. Mouthfeel is full and smooth and quite sticky to the point of being cloying.
Overall, I’m really struggling to drink this. It is overly sweet, almost syrupy, without a ton of hop flavor. I am really disappointed by this brew. bigwesticle (37) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - DEC 17, 2012
My favorite SF&SGG that I’ve had so far. Very dominant obvious citra hops on the nose. Nice tropical papaya notes. Not sure on the bottling date but hops have definitely faded on the taste. Not a malt bomb by any means, but you definitely get dominant pale malt tastes. Delicious still, & easy drinking. Solid this year for sure. Beer from Secret Santa. Bomber 2012 format. Citra being my favorite hop, let’s see how good this is! Minimal head produced and faded to nothing fast. Burnt reddish hues. It doesn’t actually have the citra scent I expected. More like Simcoe. Taste is alright though. Very low bitterness, sort of malty / chewy breadiness that I wasn’t expecting. There’s some grapefruit at the finish. Not all that great though. Drinkable but not a lot going on.
