Cask at the anniversary party. Poured a cloudy brown, with a small white head. Nose is great. A nice mix of cinnamon, vanilla, sweet malt, and light hops. Taste is smooth vanilla, sweet malt, light chocolate & cinnamon, and a slight hop finish. Really enjoyable. Mouth is smooth and carbonation is soft. Overall, a nice cask ale. nimbleprop (8743) - SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA - JUN 5, 2010
On cask at Rustico. Pours a translucent, murky nut brown with very little, spitty off white head. Aroma is nice, sweet, a little chocolaty, a hint of cinnamon, vanilla beans, sweet malts. Actually sampled this with the head brewer Spike who remarked he really like the rootbeer, cream soda flavors. Me too. Sweet, the vanilla coats the tongue well, malty, a touch of light citrus. The cinnamon kicks in on the end. Also a lasting sweetness. Pretty nice, I thought the vanilla bean worked really well.
