Original. 440ml can. Pours large white head. Aroma slightly sour with some nutmeg hints. Colour copper. Taste is a tad salty, medium sweet with strong bitterness. Some nut and sour fruit in there too. Body thin and watery. Finish long and metallic. Not a pleasing drink. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

440ml can into pint glass. As Tetley's Smooth Flow. Widgety gush leads to a still golden bronze beer with a two finger tightly packed creamy head. Excellent lacing. Smells of caramel lollies being eaten in the next room. Smooth texture, toffee malt taste. Short finish. Standard English lunchtime pub bitter.

On tap in Oxford. Pours a golden amber with a solid white head. Aroma: biscuity malt, caramel malt, grass notes. Taste: biscuity malt, caramel malts, very mild citrus flavours. Smooth. Mildly bitter. Medium body. Not much flavour, but still pleasant to drink. Better than I expected this to be.

Body is medium, waterig, afdronk is karamel zoet. Het is zeker Smoothflow door de nitro maar ook erg vlak.

alexmate (307) - South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - JUL 19, 2016
An average ale. I tried the smoothflow version. Appearance = thick creamy head with a dark amber body. Nose = a slight barnyard smell with grass, hay and lemon, as well as a sour cream smell. Taste = slightly metallic, with a bit of caramel, roasted malt, lemon and a bit of grass. The beer is watery and unfulfilling. Price paid = 50p (dented can).

Can of the "Original" version at a work quiz night, poured repeatedly into a small disposable plastic water cup- not one of my classiest drinking experiences! Was quite surprised to see it’s a separate rate to the keg version- had assumed I’d just be doing a re-rate. It’s a slightly murky amber-brown brew with a thick off-white head. A surprisingly fruity flavour with caramel and tea on the side. Sweetish, smooth and very easy-drinking. Very little hop presence at all. It’s not great, but it’s much better than I expected (although I should stress that my expectations were pretty low). It’s also much better than I remember the keg version being (and I’ve had the keg quite a few times) so maybe it is different enough to warrant the separate entry. Anyhow, it powered our team to winning the quiz, so it can’t be all that bad.
