Nitro Keg Ale and Canned Widget Ale. An export strength beer brewed specifically for countries outside the UK. It has the same smooth and creamy characteristics as Tetley’s Smoothflow and incorporates a full drinking flavour. It is well balanced with a complex range of malty and hoppy notes, enhanced by a fruity aroma. Like Tetley’s Smoothflow, it is served at 8°C to give extra refreshment.

An amber beer with a smooth fine head. It has next to no aroma. The flavor is soft, sligthtly sweet and fruity with an OK bitterness. A little light. A fine beer - but very standard.

Nitro Keg
Amber color; creamy head. Ordinary aroma; smooth taste, quite poor, just lightly malty-fruity. Unfortunately the final (strong bitterness) is paper-like and metallic.

Oakes (19363) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 19, 2000
Decent maltiness, but zero aroma and lifeless body, as is typical of widget beers.

Golden, with a great lasting offwhite head that is still in the glass after you finished the beer. Has a mild a somewhat yeasty aroma. Creamy flavor with some citrus and also some bread. Quite a mild finish.

Can. Backlog. Pours yellow gold with cream white head. Nose/taste of herbal notes, malt, light toast and touch of doughy grass. Medium body.

Can. Off-white nitro-head on top of a golden body. Caramel aroma and flavor with some sour notes in the aroma. Medium body. A bit boring but not bad at all. Just didn’t inspire me. (060819)

imdownthepub (15514) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 16, 2004
Keg, pasteurised. Brown with foamy head. Dead tasteless beer, awful nitrokeg with few redeeming features. Thank god it wasn't the can with a widget.

gunnfryd (15482) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - JUN 15, 2007
Can. Golden brown colour with an off-white head. Aroma is caramel, malt. Flavour is caramel, malt. A little bit boring.

Tmoney99 (15114) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAY 21, 2006
Can with widget. Dark amber color with an average creamy off-white head that diminished slowly. Light toasted malt aroma. Medium body with a creamy watery texture. Balanced light sweet bitter flavor and finish of short duration. Drinkable for a nitro can.

Drake (14332) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - MAY 1, 2012
16 ounce widget can from Wine Warehouse Charlottesville. Pours a clear amber ones the nitro fades. Typical nitro creamy tan head. Aroma of toasted malts, stone fruits and herbal notes. The taste is bitter hops, toasted malts, nutty notes and a bit of clay. Thin bodied. Pretty bland.
