Pours a nice brown cola color with a two finger head that left some good lacing around the glass. The aroma is chocolate and some coffee notes mixed in, and brown bread crust. The flavor is medium roasted malts, cocoa powder, and some brown bread. The mouthfeel is light and drinkability is high. Not the best porter around but worth a try. kalebmerck (1) - Grapevine, Alabama, USA - NOV 8, 2016 does not count
Excellent porter with a very smooth finish and quality aroma and balance. In my experience, all of the Texas Ale Project beers are outstanding due to their quality brewing process and unfiltered beers. Would certainly recommend kevinator (2910) - The Colony, Texas, USA - OCT 30, 2016
Kind of average porter. Faint aroma of roasted malts. Decent deep brown color with a small head. Flavor had hints of toast and coffee. Fits the style profile but nothing unique. Medium body. domvan (2) - Dallas, Texas, USA - AUG 18, 2016 does not count
It pours dark and appears heavy, the aroma is robust and roasty, a very thin mouthfeel and easy drinking beer though. Very session able Porter SudsMcDuff (8563) - .....Manchester United.........., Texas, USA - APR 16, 2016

at the brewery, very clean uplifting hipster warehouse style .. deep brown pants .. mouth is spot on for a fair porter. .. mild roast .. . a clean and simple brown porter, nothing to bring it glory but just fits nicely .. . .
I’m just here for the public rejection.
I don’t normally drink porters, but I love this one! It is so crisp. Leans toward the coffee and chocolate malts without being sweet like some porters. Mix the Shady with TAP’s limited release Caucasian for a delightful treat! celina4beer (5) - - JAN 23, 2016 does not count
My favorite one at this brewery. One of the best porters in Texas. Chocolate and decadent, but not too heavy. dyetube (1378) - Hurst, Texas, USA - NOV 6, 2015
On tap at Ron’s Corner tavern. Pours black with a thin team head. The aromas are chocolate, coffee. The mouthfeel is watery and bitter with a medium to heavy body and medium carbonation. Cheers! lownote (585) - Austin, Alabama, USA - SEP 4, 2015
Has a bitter chocolate, coffee aroma. Strong. Pours black with a tiny tan head. Tastes roasty. Really dry. Lots of roasted flavors. The burntness kind of lingers. Really light bodied. Good beer... flavors really clear. I like a bit more malt backbone. Cavie (4935) - Arlington, Texas, USA - APR 12, 2015
Enjoyed at BTBF 2015. Dark brown appearance. Smoky aroma, roasted grains. Milk chocolate flavor, sweet and roasted.
