33cl bottle. Brown-red colour. Almost no head. Aromas of metal, liquorice, caramel and sweet malts. Taste is a little bit metal in the beginning, then sweet malts, some smoked flavour finish is liquorice. Nice body. Little bit sticky mouthfeel. One of the better Bockbeers, much more flavour compared to others. Metal taste not to overwhelming, like others say

Wat mij betreft koning van de bokbieren. Afdronk is opvallend bitter wat een meerwaarde geeft.

blariacum (124) - Nijmegen, NETHERLANDS - MAY 14, 2017
Fles. Goede bok. Een van de betere van Texels, want de bieren zijn nogal verschillend van kwaliteit. Mooi donkergouden kleur. Bruist in de mond. Eerste slok sterke stout smaak, maar dat overheerst verder niet. Sprankelende bok. Prima.

0.3 l bottle from AH (Sittard), best before August 2019. Clear, dark red with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity and a bit roasty aroma of caramel, nuts, some brown sugar and a touch of raisins. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity and minimally roasty taste of caramel, chocolate, nuts, brown sugar and hints of raisins, followed by a short, slightly bitter, minimally roasty and a little yeasty finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay, quite tame but pleasant.
