Drank at the Buitenlust. Dark brown color, decent head. Smell and taste malts, caramel, some bitterness. Not bad. ads135 (5031) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - SEP 19, 2013
Like all of the Texel beers drunk at the brewery in Texel, what’s so impressive about these beers is their mouthfeel, incredibly soft. Not much else is distinctive about this dubbel. bonkiedeaap (815) - Leerdam, NETHERLANDS - SEP 14, 2013
Bought a bottle at Bert’s Bierhuis. The beer has a soft ruby color and a cream colored head, CO2 level is perfect. In the aroma tones of caramel, nuts and some hints of flowers. The taste is fresh and a little bitter with tones of nuts. The finish is medium dry with some spiciness. A nice Dubbel, but I know cheaper ones which are way better. jmgreenuk (9981) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - SEP 2, 2013
Bottle at the Fiddler, Den Haag. Poured a clear deep chesnut brown with a thin off white head. The aroma is of malt and caramel. The the flavour is medium bitter with yeast, roasted malt, toffee and caramel on the smooth and inoffensive palate. Rivals Wesmalle Dubbel IMO. Mora2000 (6158) - McKinney, Texas, USA - JUL 6, 2013
Thanks to bu11zeye for sharing this bottle. Dark amber with a white head. The aroma is full of toffee. The flavor is similar with a lot of toffee, as well as some brown sugar and candy sugar. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

Not their best beer. It’s a little boring actually. I drinks easily and is def. easy going, but it just lacks in depth. Has a burnt malt, caramel like flavor profile with a mild bitter and medium sweetness. jd7h (52) - NETHERLANDS - MAY 26, 2013
Spicy and promising aroma. Flavour is mostly burnt malt, though. Decent dubbel, but I have definitely tasted better. larsga (7656) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 11, 2013
Small offwhite head. Hazy brown body. Spicy toffee aroma with earthy chocolatey notes. Dry-sweet earthy chocolatey taste with spicy dried fruit notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish spicy licorice aftertaste with roasty raisiny syrup notes. Nice, drinkable, and vivid. (0.33l bottle at Café Gollem, Amsterdam.) dEnk (4200) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - APR 15, 2013
Bottle @ home. Aroma is caramel malt with some red fruit. Flavour is malty sweetness of caramel, slight bready note, some fruit and a touch of metal. Boring standard dubbel. MaartenRF10 (1959) - Wageningen, NETHERLANDS - NOV 20, 2012
Clear brown. Small beige rapidly fading head. Caramel roasted malts, dark fruit, raisins. Rather sweet, but nice and warming. Good beer for the colder days.
