Dark red-brown colour. No head. malty and some sweet, fruity notes. Slight smokiness in the finish. Not a nice mouthfeel; big carbonation and thin texture.

erickok (6036) - Leuven, BELGIUM - MAY 8, 2012
Murky brown body with pillowy light tan head. Lively body. Aroma has Belgian yeast, nutty, caramel, earthy, sharp hops. Classic style. Low carbonation. Taste is pretty metallic (or astringent), not as sweet as most dubbels but also missing body and character. Feels industrial. Not great. (33cl bottle, very cheap at the brewery shop)

vipinvelp (4540) - Velp, NETHERLANDS - APR 25, 2012
Dark brown poor and small off-white very fast dissapearing foam head. Strong taste, nuts and yeast, bitter too. Somewhat sweet finish, not my favorite I think. (Velp 201104)

Christos (5889) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - JAN 26, 2012
UPDATED: JUN 16, 2017 (Texels Dubbel) Bottle, 300 ml at home, poured into a tulip glass. ABV 6.4% Deep amber caramel/brown colour on the body, with a nice, two fingers tall, off-white head on top. Very good retention and light lacing left on the glass. Aroma of caramel, a little bit of dark fruits and alcohol. All the aromas are quite faint. Taste is much better, lighty roasted malts to begin with, then comes some caramel and a little bit of chocolate and spices on the finish. Mildly sweet taste, while the aftertaste is a bit metallic. Medium thin body, light carbonation and oily palate. Overall, average dubbel but enjoyable nevertheless. A6A3T6P3O12=3

Bottle. The aroma is nice malty, light alcoholic, some bread. The dark white creamy-foamy head is medium large and has a normal duration. The body is dark brown. A nice malty taste, a little bit smoky. The body is light to medium strong, creamy with a soft carbonation.
