chriso (21656) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAY 8, 2011
On tap at Haven Van Texel, Amsterdam on 6 Aril 2011. Ruddy red / brown colour. Moderate cream head. Modestly fruity aroma. Sweetishon the palate with a strong candi sugar feel and some caramel notes. Not too sticky though. Decent enough.

5th April 2011
Bottle from Bier Koning. Hazy brown beer, good but short lived cream coloured head. Light airy palate. Softish and semi dry. Even malt, trace of hop bitterness. Drinkable but somewhat dull Dubbel.

3.4
Leighton (22306) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 27, 2011
Bottle at home. Clear, light brown pou wth a soft, creamy head. Sugary malt nose, hints of candi and caramel. The flavor isn’t exactly bland, but it isn’t very exciting, either. Bit of caramel, candi sugar, rich bread. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Faint warmth on the finish, mild sugar. Pretty drinkable but lacks cajones.

Countbeer (6599) - Best of E-Town mit 2 Brauhausen, NETHERLANDS - NOV 29, 2010
Bottle: Light brown airy foamy head on top of a very light cloudy amber to light brown colored beer. Smell roasted malts, caramel, some (dark) fruits, spices, hops and yeast. Taste is a mix of hops, bitter, spices, roasted malts, caramel, brown sugars, yeast and some dark fruits. turns a bit more bitter towards the aftertaste. Medium body with medium carbonation.

This is not a bad dubbel at all! I liked it best of all the Texelse beers during my stay on Texel this oktober. It tastes roasty, but fruity. It could use a bit more alcohol for just that extra bite! 6.4 % is rather low for a dubbel I think.

3.3
BoBoChamp (5878) - Gent, BELGIUM - AUG 16, 2010
30cl, Dutch brewery, from Melger’s Haarlem, complex brew, yet easy to drink, balanced, hazy, good head, nice brew

3.2
Vaiz (4460) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - MAY 20, 2010
Bottle at home. Hazy reddish dark brown color with floaties and a creamy off-white head. Aroma of dark malts, fruits, spices, alcohol and bready yeast. Flavor is watery, a bit sweet, slightly bitter in the finish, quite malty, yeasty and with spices. Slightly better than expected (did not expect much). Decent dubbel with a nice flavor, yet a bit watery.

3.3
Quack-Duck (9533) - Down South, GERMANY - MAY 8, 2010
bottle, courtesy of Bierkoning - Danke! Deep bronw colour, large beige head. Full-bodied, malty with shy hints of spices and herbs. Hints of caramel and roasetd malts.

3.5
alagnak (468) - Littleton, Colorado, USA - FEB 7, 2010
Bottle. Deep reddish brown with a thin creamy head that lingers. Sweet caramel malts and slightly herbal notes in the nose. Flavor is toffee and caramel sweetness with a slight bitterness towards the end that balances really well. Finish is a touch syrupy and detracts a little from the overall, but a nice beer made in a very interesting part of holland, so bonus tick for that.
