Aus der Flasche getrunken (Lieferung aus der Brauerei). Klares dunkles Amber im Glas. Süßlich im Antrunk und sehr mild wirkend.

Bottle in a restaurant in Amsterdam. Hazy orange with a full head. Aroma of spice wheat. Flavour of tinned fruit, caramel, yeast on a bitter spice finish.

This was quite the surprise by the Texels brewery. A very nice beer with a soft mouthfeel and nice wheety/hoppy aromas.

Keg at Haven Texels, Amsterdam, 27/09/15. Hazed orange amber topped with a decent beige covering. Nose is caramel, spice, straw, light citric notes. Taste comprises yeast esters, orange, mellow dark fruit, bready. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Looks and feels good but fails to deliver at the business end.

Gangstergafje (1346) - Capelle aan den IJssel, NETHERLANDS - NOV 3, 2015
The beer has a beautiful amber color. The beer has a nice orange glow. The beer pours a nice rough white foam. A decent layer of foam remains on top of the beer, like it should. The beer is quite cloudy, like a unfiltered specialty should be. The beer has a nice aroma. There is a sweet aroma, a little fruity. I also smell almond, some zest from citrus fruits and a tiny fresh hop aroma. The almond aroma is quite strong in this beer. Nice. The taste is really great. There is a lot going on. I taste the almond again, which is nice. There also is a tiny bitter roast taste, and some fresh fruity hop notes. I also distinguish a nice alcohol flavor. The beer has a good balance between bitter and sweet, quite nice. Not s bad beer.

Almost no head, amber, hazy, hay, light sweetness, medium bitterness, fresh beer and well balanced feels good in the mouth but missing some aroma to set it apart.

Kleurplaatje (213) - Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - AUG 8, 2015
Gushes dark amber with minimal head. Great lacing though. Slightly hazy. Yeasty and spicy aroma. Some sugars, slight metallic note. Bit dubbel-like to me. Taste is bitterish and pretty toasty with a nice sweetish and yeasty kick. Mild presence of caramels and a dryish, slightly hoppy and yeasty, almost creamy finish. On the thinner side of the palate, yet still creamy. Medium bodied and lively in terms of carbonation. Nice brew. Not astonishing, but certainly above average.
