Bottle. Pours dark ruby with a beige head. Aroma: red fruit, nuts, caramel, slighly vinous. Taste: red fruit, caramel, nuts, cranberries, honey, nutmeg. Medium sweet, smooth, well balanced, medium finish.

Geweldig om dit bier als 4 jaar oud te drinken. Heerlijke zachte complexe smaak waar je echt van kan geniete.

Alengrin (5255) - BELGIUM - SEP 6, 2014
UPDATED: MAR 21, 2015 Top-fermented Doppelbock (which actually means ’strong ale’ apparently?) from the only brewery of the Waddeneilanden, with a creamy, yellowish white head and deep bronze colour, clear. Aroma of caramel, milk chocolate, pine resin, iron, kahlua, raisins, banana, gingerbread; smooth candied fruits in the mouth, candi syrup, caramel malts in the background, chocolatey malts too, something metallic, long and hop bitterish finish with some liqueurish, warming alcohol. Not bad and fairly true to its style - if you consider this a top-fermented Dutch Bockbier, that is.

Ulysse (518) - Brussels, BELGIUM - AUG 25, 2014
roasty, brown, amber, hazy, minimal head, medium bitterness, flat, long finish,

Cunningham (7861) - Halden, NORWAY - AUG 15, 2014
Almost clear amber color with a small off white layer. Color is ok, but not any nice head. Fruity and vinous aroma. Quite ok. Thick fine body, but way to low carbonation. Also a miss balance between sweetness and bitterness. To sweet. Not any sticky alcohol notes. Sherry like flavor. Very fruity, some caramel and some yeast. The low carbonation destroyed this beer. Could have been nice.

Is it possible just to give a rating without writing a comment? It's a good beer

Holmen2 (3568) - NORWAY - JUL 18, 2014
Cloudy brown. Pale beige head. Unfresh and uninviting aroma of banana, cellar, green apples and harsh margarin. Taste of artificial caramel anf bonbons. Bitterness and harsh caramel in aftertaste. Initial aroma and taste improves as the beer aired in the glass.

MarcoDL (4844) - NETHERLANDS - JUN 27, 2014
Tastes like a blend of a Belgian dubbel with a doppelbock. Yeasty body, with dryish caramalt and lots of herbs and fruits. Good.

Donker roodbruin , kraag is snel pleite. Ruikt metaalachtig maar ook appelgebak. Smaakt vrij zoet, caramel, wat droppig, er zit vaag wat onaangenaams in.

UPDATED: NOV 15, 2014 U. Niet zo mooi bruin, dun schuim. G. Zoet kaneel? Nootmuskaat? S. Zoet, vol, nasmaak iets minder. M. Vol, redelijk koolzuur.. T. Apart, niet super maar redelijk lekker. Rerate, toch erg lekker! Erg zoet.
