In the Fall of 1835, Mexico was experiencing turmoil that caused them to tighten their grips on their states and territories. This angered the Texian settlers because they felt that their freedoms and representation rights were being taken away. Years before, the army had given the town of Gonzales a cannon for protection. Now that the area was getting restless, the army sought to re-take the cannon. The Texians called out for help and soon the town swelled with reinforcements. As the Mexican army, under the command of Colonel Domingo Ugartechea, arrived to see the Texian fort with the "Come and Take It" flag proudly waiving. After a single cannon shot, the Mexican army was in full retreat and the Texas Revolution was born.

Looks like a saison. Drinks like a homebrew with a bad water profile or yeast strain that didnt ferment at the right temp. Has a medicinal stringency so something may have went awry in the ferment.

Gorgeous light amber pour. Strong white head. Smells of light floral and lemon zest notes. Bitter malt start with the lemon zest. Nothing to pronounced or bold. Not bad

Clear golden coloured body with a large, soapy white head, about four centimetres tall. Aroma of hay, grass, barnyards, yeast, wheat, coriander seed and some curacao and other citrus. Light-bodied; Rather sharp malty flavours up front with a pungent yeast and wheat kick and hops noticeable throughout with a decidedly piney finish. Aftertaste shows some depth around the wheat, yeast and coriander seed notes and a touch of sweetness on the finale. Overall, a decent saison that has a good profile and a nice complexity - especially since this is a lightish beer, but with a big flavour, not a bad one for the summer. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Whip-In in Austin, Texas on 07-May-2014 for US$1,79 sampled back at home in Washington on 26-August-2014.

On tap at brewery. Honestly one of the best saison I've ever had. Incredible lasting. Head. Keeps going. Aroma is sweet golden grain. Flavor profile is carbed sweetness almost like a golden ale with a pepper finish. Very impressed by this one. Very enjoyable. Mouthfeel is heavy carb and slight sweet thickness. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Interestingly low scores here. Not the most enticing aroma. Enjoy the nice spicy flavor though. Zesty lemon body to bring it alive.

Can from Ashley. Murky yellow pour with a giant white head. Aroma is dry, yeasty, flowers, and some citrus. Taste is more flowers, yeasty, banana, and a little watery. A little spice in the finish.

Pale yellow. Metallic. Pretty weak all around. Bubbly medium bodied. Chemicals, metals, and saison yeast.

Poured a very faint yellow with a fluffy head. No nose at all. In the mouth it was pure metallic.

Fruity and yeasty on the nose. I get the same on the palate, along with a lot of floral notes as well. Overall, not a bad example of the style.

Gold pour, white head. Yeast, florals, spice, light hops, very floral. Smooth palate, florals, yeast, hint of spice, easy finish.
