A medium dry cider made from a blend of apple varieties. Mostly bottled but also available on draught in the Wetherspoons Spring 2010 festival at 4.9%

Legend has it that every night, under the cover of darkness, a wily old fox crept out of his den at the bottom of our orchard and tiptoed his way to the cider store to help himself to fresh supplies.
Its understandable though, once they have a taste, most people cant get enough of this rather distinctive Somerset cider.

Orang to yellow gold in colour with aromas of candy sugar, apple chews and blossom. Flavours closely mirror the aroma description with lovely sherbety carbonation. Im not as big a fan of this as I am the Coxs from the same cidery but still a fan.

Bottle, 500ml. *** Colour: Bright, yellow golden. Small head. *** Nose: Ripe apples, a hint of pears. Mild lemon. *** Mouthfeel: Light to medium-bodied, a bit watery. Active carbonation. *** Taste: Medium-sweet apples, lemon at the start. Drier towards the middle, with slightly bitter apple peel. Mild finish, apple peel and chalk(?). Short aftertaste of lemon and faint apples. *** Impressions: Decent, unremarkable Thatchers cider, not fruity enough to truly register. Standard stuff.

Bottle from Quality Save, Manchester. Paler golden coloured cider. The apple is light in its aroma, and similarly so in its taste, with both a sweetness and a dryness.

4.5% ABV No head as expected. For a medium-full bodied cider, it is supremely smooth and oh so very drinkable. Demi-sec on the palate with just enough fruit to be playfully unmistakably cidery. Very clean flavors come through all the way, with pear and berries coming through quite strongly leaving nice floral hints of orchid and hibiscus lightly on the palate. There is just enough alcohol to put a wicked little spike into your evening, especially if this is the first drink after a long day and just before dinner. Goes on the Favorites List.
