Poured a dark, dark, murky, brown with a tan two-finger head. This was very deep in color, I can’t even see through it. Great lacing with smells of pine, resin, grass, and just fresh juiceness. This beer tastes piney, grassy, and fresh, a slight smoky finish. The body is full and thick, reminds me of a hopped-up version of Arrogant. Great beer and definitely worth seeking out.
"As well balanced as possible for being much more of a hop monster than I thought. The malts are in the background a little, mainly Light roast, caramel, and molasses. The hops are abundantly grapefruit and pretty bitter on the back end. Nice brew."

Just noticed this beer on the list and remember that I had a bottle. I thought this was very enjoyable, slightly roasty, nicely bitter. Its a shame that it is just a one off. Berard (639) - Salem, New Hampshire, USA - MAR 10, 2014
Bottle. Pours more brown than black with thin creme colored head that dissipates. Mild hop aroma over medium carbonation. Medium substance and coffee flavor. A bit sweet with a hop resin finish. Above average complexity for the style.

bottle. Brown with one finger head. Malty brown ale with big tasty hops. Lots of citrus especially. Very delicious meld of flavors. Beergeek23322 (2643) - Chester, Virginia, USA - NOV 7, 2013

2011 bottle. Pours dark brown. Carmal malt and chocolate notes. Very malty nice finish. BOLTZ7555 (3127) - Phoenix, Arizona, USA - SEP 29, 2013
Clear mahogany pour with a tightly packed khaki head. Candied citrus, orange peel, honey-baked biscuit, resinous pine, and caramel malt. Nothing was terribly aggressive here. Balanced and drinkable but not awe-inspiring or memorable. kevinator (2716) - The Colony, Texas, USA - SEP 11, 2013
This was OK and definitely had the Stone stamp on it. Hoppy aroma that leaned toward piney. Dark brown color with a medium and quickly dissipating head. Medium body and good carbonation. This reminded me of a brown ale mixed with an IPA, which may be what they were going for. Some roasted malts in the background but not enough in my opinion. Nice bitterness that needed a little more balance. Good but Stone puts out much better. madmitch76 (25568) - , Essex, ENGLAND - SEP 9, 2013

Opaque dark brown beer, thick pale tan head. Palate is light and semi soft with mild fine carbonation. Softish malt, not sweet. A little malt cream. Decent piney hops, touch of mint. Finishes soft and semi dry and somewhat wishy washy! Mild bitter linger. Okay, lack a bit of cohesiveness.
Bottle. Brown pour with thin white head, light lacing. Aroma of molasses, quite potent, peppery hops, hops are rather timid. Flavor is sweet, molasses and roasty, bitter finish. Thick palate, med carbonation.
