COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
EL CUATRO is made of barley and caramel malts co-mingling with lactobacillus and brettanomyces. After brewing and conditioning, the beer is transferred into brandy & whiskey barrels to age for over a year during an extended Brettanomyces Lambicus fermentation. Prior to bottling, the beer is blended with a small portion of year-old SAHALIE. The only hops added to this beer arrive from the aged SAHALIE.
The brandy barrels and wild yeast fermentation give EL CUATRO a plum & cherry fruitiness balanced by the slight toast of the malt body.

750 ml bottle to snifter (shared by Dogbones). Looks good; a cloudy caramel orange with eggshell head. Smells tart and funky with a nice brandy barrel presence. Tastes like it smells with a pleasant medium-bodied mouthfeel. Great beer, and dangerously drinkable.

Bottle - Light sour ketchup, cherry and nice sweetness. Clear copper with and beige head. Big tart notes, some vinegar and cherry notes. Ketchup and quiet nice.

750mL bottle, pours a hazy amber orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out loads of brandy barrels... wow, the elegance here is very high. Flavour is just as complex, with loads of brandy barrels, some candied sugar without being cloying, and more brandy. Phenomenally elegant and complex. The lack of hops is not really noticeable, as this is very well-balanced. Excellent stuff.

Bottle thanks to Chow. Pourd a cloudy copper with small beige had that lasts. The aroma is strong brandy, oak, funk. Thin mouthfeel with light booze, grain, funk, sour finish. Very good.

Beer Bloggers Conference - San Diego - Huge sour flavors lots of yeast lingering. Love the brandy barrel flavors that also come through.

March 2013 Batch. Gold with vanishing white head, hazy-to-cloudy with meandering wisps of yeast. Aroma/flavor are light and clean lactic. Incredibly smooth and drinkable with a medley of berry-like fruit: raspberry, blackberry, etc. Body is light, but moderately effervescent. Delicious, went down quickly. Underrated.

Bottle... Hazy golden ale with virtually no head its tiny, white and gone in the blink of an eye. The aroma offers phenolic spiciness and a vinous, oaken tanginess. Full-bodied with airy carbonation. The flavor is lightly tangy, heavily sweet, and presents more yeast-driven spiciness than I am able to enjoy clove, to be specific. Finishes tangy and a touch too sweet. A solid beer, but not at all my thing. Bottle courtesy of newcigarz!

Pour out of 750 ml bottle, thanks Stephen! Hazy orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of lemon, oak brandy, earth, slight white grape, hints of grain, slight yeast. Taste is a mix of dough, yeast, grass, some peach, pear, white grape, slight grainy notes, finishing fairly sweet. Nice.

Bottle at home with friends. Pour is clear yellow with a small white head and decent lacing. Funky, lemony, vanilla, light urine, biscuit, hay, grassy, and doughy aroma. Taste is sweet lemons, biscuit, orange juice, grass, biscuit notes, tangy, and floral with a lightly tart finish. Medium body with fizzy carbonation. Not bad but kind of different.
