Bottle from 16 Tons Taphouse, Eugene. Pours a medium cloudy golden color, lots and lots of white head, totally exploded! Aroma heavy on grapes and funk, yeast. Vinous notes as well. Taste of yeasty malty sweetness; body not as much as you might think: lively but not so tart. Finishes with an oaky, toffee sweetness. A lot going on here, very impressive! Pours a medium copper color with a touch of haze and two fingers of white foam. Lots of complexity duality and harmony happening in this beer. Rustic malts with honey sweetness, tart vinous acidity and round grapey brandy booze. Citrus punch plays nicely with the overall boozy stonefruit and doughy background malts. Poured from bottle to glass. Amber hue with creamy white head. Aroma is lemon, earthy, grape, sweat, wood. Mouthfeel is great with light body and nice carbonation. Taste is dry with a tart following and spicy/funk in the finish. Overall this is a really nice brew. slowrunner77 (12044) - Reno, Nevada, USA - MAR 25, 2017
This one was 9.72% and said on the spine label that it had aged hops, and was aged in both brandy & pinot barrels. Amber orange pour, with a little of the alcohol showing. Complex moderately tart flavor and nose, with a distinct wine character and some sweetness from the brandy. Complex and elegant, as all the AA beers have been so far. Appearance: clear medium amber with one finger of fizzy off-white head settling to a thin ring, minimal lacing. (4/5) Aroma: complex, white grape must, stone fruit, caramel, oak, malt vinegar, earthy funk. (9/10) Taste: moderate-high tart, moderate sweet, low bitter. (9/10) Palate: medium body, lively carbonation, short tart finish. (4/5)
An interesting and elegant beer, reminiscent of a Gueuze or a Flemish Brown in its flavours. The aroma is pleasantly complex, with a combination of fruit, barrel, and vinegar notes. I find it just slightly aggressive on the tongue, with perhaps a hair too much emphasis on the vinegary tartness. Having said that, I suspect I’d find it too sweet if it weren’t quite so tart, so there’s that. Extremely good, and able to stand alongside some of the best (17/20)

Bottle from The (new) Beer Stein in Eugene. Aroma is slight brandy, olive, (non-diatectyl) popcorn, and white wine. Flavor is much of the same... more white wine and popcorn comes through. This one isn't crazy sour, but it's an excellent mix of all the above flavors and slightly tart. Excellent beer.

March 2013 Batch. Gold with vanishing white head, hazy-to-cloudy with meandering wisps of yeast. Aroma/flavor are light and clean lactic. Incredibly smooth and drinkable with a medley of berry-like fruit: raspberry, blackberry, etc. Body is light, but moderately effervescent. Delicious, went down quickly. Underrated. mcberko (17832) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - NOV 10, 2014
750mL bottle, pours a hazy amber orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out loads of brandy barrels... wow, the elegance here is very high. Flavour is just as complex, with loads of brandy barrels, some candied sugar without being cloying, and more brandy. Phenomenally elegant and complex. The lack of hops is not really noticeable, as this is very well-balanced. Excellent stuff. BenH (3439) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - JUL 31, 2013
Bottle, thanks Colin. Hazy golden with white head. Nice funky aroma, citrus and lambic. Similar taste, funky and citrus. Very light tartness. Very good. Leighton (21255) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 31, 2013
Bottle at Bruce’s - London. Huge thanks to Colin for providing yet another beer from this fine brewery. Pours cloudy orange-gold with a foamy white head. Nice sour, lightly acidic lemon in the nose, hints of peach. Light sweet flavor, good funk, some ripe lemon, light semi-dry dough, subtle, light brett, sweat. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Lightly warming finish, more lemon and peach, some tangerine, soft dough. Very smooth for the strength. Nice nuance.
