The beer is light golden with a small, fizzy white head. The aroma offers lemons, wild yeast, grass, funk. Herbal and earthy tones with a delicate sweetness balanced by a light funk. Highly drinkable and really smooth on the palate. This one is a sleeper. Light spice quality. Beautiful balance and so easy to drink. Where is the alcohol presence? Masterfully hidden.

drainpour (39) - Santa Rosa, USA - OCT 4, 2014
Was underwhelmed by this beer. Pretty good, just not great. It has a fairly pleasant aroma, some acidity and barrel and grape, the palate is thin, watery, champagne like carbonation, straight welches grapefruit juice, very little barrel or oak some vegetal tastes. It was quite boozy at first sip but my palate lost that as I drank a glass. 9%abv, could be toned back a bit.

Bottle. Clear yellow pour with a big white head. Mild citrus and barrel aromas. Mildly sour with lemon zest, citrus, pear, and white grape vinous highlights. Mild caramel malt, oak, and vinegar low lights. Not overly complex or tart. Tasty and easy sippin’. A bit on the effervescent side.

McNeillR (2333) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - SEP 17, 2014
UPDATED: SEP 18, 2014 Pale cloudy light golden. Light white ringed head. Soft soapy dusty lemon. Gummy citrus. Clinks of passionfruit. Clean and sweet. Faint stewed pineapple. Very clean and neat. Smashing through with such an ABV without any harshness from the length of time in barrell.

Bottle, Independence Tasting, thanks to Paul for the long haul

Tasted on 2/8/14 from a 750mL bottle at the RBWG Grand Tasting. Pours cloudy yellow with a thick white head that slowly recedes to thick lace. The nose is dry sourdough, a touch of lemon peel, and a ton of funky and vinous yeast. The flavor is a bit more tart with gooseberry, lemon, very dry, vinous, and spicy with a touch of lightly sweet Meyer lemon. The body is lactic full with lively but smooth carbonation, and a long tart vinous finish.

Pours a large frothy white was atop a cloudy gold body. Nose of sour yet very Belgian and coriander. Flavour is amazing. I’m loving this brewery.

Pours golden yellow with a creamy white head. Aroma of lemons, light funk, oak. Taste is crisp and clean. Same as aroma with slight wine notes and sticky finish. Excellent beer. 10% but no booze whatsoever. Refreshing and drinkable ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
