UPDATED: FEB 20, 2016 750mL shared by dice. Bottled sometime in 2014, the rest of the numbers have been rubbed away. Abv is 9.45. Pours dark golden with medium head. Aroma is strong with spikey esters, some light pear, wild flurries, berries. Flavor is too sweet for the beer, not super sweet but the context for this beer is off. Some light sweet apple juice with light tartness. Cool beer but too sweet. Rerate. October 2015 bottle. Sweet, lightly fecal aroma. Brett and fruitiness messing around, some sweetness, light herbal character. Lots going on. Flavor has some cider, too sweet for style. Mostly cidery and sweet, hiding the funk and brett. Still too sweet and still to appley.

Bomber. Punchy tart fruity nose, yellow fruit, and citrus. Cloudy medium straw color. Light fizzy stone fruit, small bit of funk, some sugary jumps in mid palate, and then it gets dry in the finish. Thin body, very light astringency. Very pleasant . Mild flavors, well balanced, and a fair amount of tartness.

750 mL bottle poured, that luttonm generously both shared and muscled up to remove the cork. Thanks! Happy rate number 6000! A glowing orange pour with a gentle foam head. A wild aroma, sharp, inviting. Flavor is a very nice blend of wine barrel, as expected, but executed a lot better than I had imagined. Tart orange, white grape, soft peach. A ton of dry wine barrel late. As unique and interesting as they come. A beer worth celebrating an occasion with. Excellent stuff.

Bottle at home with friends. Pour is somewhat hazy golden with a white head that quickly dissipated. Funky, urine, fruity, pineapple, green apples, pears, woody, white wine, and lemon peel in the aroma. Taste is moderately tart, lemon, urine, horseblanket, somewhat doughy, pineapple, mango, white grapes, a touch of bread, and honey with a lightly sour finish. Light body with high carbonation. Light, funky, easy-drinking, and tart, hard to believe its 10%+.

Batch Nov 09 2012 10.78 alc vol The beer is light golden with a small, fizzy white head. The aroma offers lemons, wild yeast, grass, funk. Herbal and earthy tones with a delicate sweetness balanced by a light funk. Highly drinkable and really smooth on the palate. This one is a sleeper. Light spice quality. Beautiful balance and so easy to drink. Where is the alcohol presence? Masterfully hidden. A truly fabulous beer.

Bottle shared at HMOG and paired with a more recent bottling. The newer bottle has a little more funk in the aroma but the flavor is too similar still for me to tell a difference. Light grape and wine flavors. Medium funkiness. Well rounded and tasty.

Bottle. Clear yellow pour with a big white head. Mild citrus and barrel aromas. Mildly sour with lemon zest, citrus, pear, and white grape vinous highlights. Mild caramel malt, oak, and vinegar low lights. Not overly complex or tart. Tasty and easy sippin’. A bit on the effervescent side.

RBAG 2013, from a bottle with a sting holding the cork in (!?) Lemony yellow and hazy in the glass. The head is white and small, not long lasting. Nose has citrus/orange and some fruitiness (pineapple maybe?). Tastes a bit sour with white wine acidity, some fruity notes and mild funk. Light finish with a little bit of barrel character. Effervescent and generally enjoyable.

Shared at an Ann Arbor get together at Jeff’s on July 20. 750 mL bottle. Corbet broke the bottle trying to get the cork out, so Jeff had to come to the rescue and saber this bitch open. Awesome. The pour is a frothy hazy golden yellow with a large white head that falls slowly. The aroma is quite complex. There is a lot of funkiness, citrus, stone fruit, yeast, biscuit malt, and a hint of clove. Sigh, this was great until the clove showed up. I do like that there is a good fruitiness to this. The flavor is interesting. There is a light berry and maybe some grape skin to go with the citrus. The clove really comes through on the back end with the yeast. The mouth feel is a little heavier than I would like with a nice carbonation and a lingeringly bready and dry finish. This is an interesting brew.

Bottle courtesy of Todd. Really nice lightly golden sour lactic tartness. Oaky and lightly spicy. Great sour golden.
