This was a gift from friends who visited the brewery. Cloudy, no head. Aroma is nicely tart and fruity. Stylish, fruity, rustic. Tart, clean lactic, fruity, really nice. Malty, firm finish. Fun brew, would like to study it more. ineedbeer (2298) - Oakland, California, USA - AUG 3, 2015
Poured from a 04/26/2013 vintage bottle.
Aroma is rather fruity with a lot of pineapple, pear, tropical and stone fruit. Some moderate wine notes and tannins with some light oak. Light citrus and acidity. A hint of alcohol.
Pours a hazy, gold with a large, pillowy, white head of moderate thickness that recedes fairly quickly. Really light lacing and small legs.
Flavor is slightly acidic with a hint of grain. Moderate fruit notes with some pineapple, pear, grapes, stone fruit skins and melon. Medium light tannins with some light oak notes. A bit of alcohol spice in the very dry finish.
Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with high carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth.
Overall, a surprisingly enjoyable beer. I remember hearing this batch was off when I bought the bottle so I sat on it and whatever was wrong has definitely cleared up. Great fruit notes with nice complimentary wine notes. Very fruity and dry. FlacoAlto (4228) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - SEP 2, 2015

A steady pour into my large Tripel Karmeliet tulip produces a three finger thick, plus two additional above the rim, pale tan colored head that I need to periodically suck foam from in order to keep it from overflowing. The head leaves lots of lacing on the sides of my glass and as it slowly subsides creates quite a bit of structural texture. The beer is a pale honey color that shows a clear, yellow-gold hue when held up to the light. The aroma smells funky, earthy, grainy, and tart up front. Fruit notes of floral apples, white wine like sharpness, and touches of tropical fruit that leans towards kiwis, perhaps a hint of lychees, a bit of citrus (that the tartness brings out) and star fruit is backed by some peppery spice notes, earthy, musty, almost coriander like notes, and a bit of green, spicy fruit character. There is a solid cracker like grain character, and savory pale malt note that comes out after a second pour of this beer that is really quite nice and almost savory.
Lightly sour throughout, this has a nicely balancing, tannic, woody flavor and texture to it, as well as a spicy, peppery finish to it. There is an ample fruitiness to the beer with notes of floral apple, tart star-fruit, ripe honeydew melon, a bit of musk mellon, some soft pear notes (especially towards the finish), and a tropical white wine like note that reminds me of a ripe, funky Sauvignon Blanc. This has a nice lush texture without being heavy, in fact the beer is dangerously quaffable, and I was surprised to see how strong this beer actually was. There is a very soft mustiness to this beer, it accentuates the earthy spiciness, has a touch of phenolic character to it, and just a bit of a funky edge. The oak is nicely subtle here; it contributes to the spiciness, boosts the texture, and adds a soft, savory, toasted note that nicely accentuates the pale malt character. The last has a nice pale cracker like grain note, and a bit of toothsome rustic bread like character to it.
This is a really nice beer, it has a nice sourness, and just a touch of a funky edge to it, but really is quite well balanced and integrated; the fruit character really integrates quite well with the sourness, the soft oak, the pale grain, and the lactic acidity so well, plus there is a complex, supporting fermentation character that helps to tie everything together. The oak character is especially well done; it plays an easy, supporting role that is here to only accentuate.

Fresh aromatic barley very solid through and through but not mind blowing ctipping (2268) - Florida, USA - MAR 26, 2016
750 mL bottle poured into a snifter. Reviewed from notes.
Light golden yellow. Very hazy. Nice white head.
Smell has lots of white wine, funk, and oak. Mild acidity. Grainy malt aroma with some lemon and citrus.
White wine flavors prominent again in the taste. Much more sour than the nose implied. Lemon, lactic sourness. The sweetness from pale malt builds and covers the sourness. Herbal flavors linger in the finish.
Medium carbonation. Sweet and sour in the same sip. Medium heavy body.
I had to have this (and all Ale Apothecary beers) a few times to really appreciate it. They are all very complex beers that don’t fit into standard molds.

750 ml bottle @ Bakgården Både &, Kristiansand. Unclear golden body with a small white head. Very pleasant and complex in aroma, fruity, mild acidic fruit, mild Brett, hint of wood, lemon and slightly vinous. Flavor is also complex and pleasant like aroma, fruity, acidic, vinous, wood, funk and bitterness – all extremely well balanced. Lots of flavors but nothing really dominates the others. Fine balanced body and long lasting aftertaste. Expensive, but great. KyotoLefty (10808) - Kyoto, JAPAN - JAN 4, 2017
750 ml bottle. Funky nose, oragnes, peaches, horse blanket. Cloudy blond color. Acetic flavor, grapefruit, stone fruits, chardonnay grapes, great stuff. dfearnley (2380) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - APR 14, 2017
Thanks Andrew...fucking awesome! Aroma of sweet tarts and orange. Taste is fermented apple, champagne, and orange peel. boFNjackson (4230) - Portland, Oregon, USA - AUG 19, 2012
Bottle... Poured hazy, somewhate of a pinkish/orange with a thin, lacy head. The nose was awesome here. Reminded me of cocktail bitters with the earthiness and spiciness. Tasted mildly tart with noticeable acidity. Some other funk and wine barrel tones. Mildly vinous, but the wine barrels didnt dominate and the beer could show its true colors. Fruits, floral and earthy spicing, and a little but of dryness towards the finish. BenH (3431) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 12, 2013
Bottle, thanks jack. Pale golden with white head. Funky sharp lambic aroma, citrus, lemon. Similar taste, citrus, lemon, funk. Fizzy and tart. Excelent.
