Unfortunately buttery. Dark brown appearance, thickish head. Medium bodied. Creamy mouthfeel. jandd1983 (4604) - Wentzville, Missouri, USA - APR 17, 2015
On tap at the brewery. It poured a dark brown color with an off-white head. The aroma was of malts, sugar and chocolate. The taste was similar to the aroma with more malts, sugar and some chocolate. Tasty. thomas15 (694) - Alabama, USA - JAN 19, 2014
Aroma is nutty, chocolate malts, seems like their is a lactose presence, definite vanilla. Very dark brown with a white ring and auburn edges. Taste is smooth, sweet, ever so slight back end bitter. Really smooth, brewer confirmed use of lactose. deyholla (12276) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - NOV 29, 2013
On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear deep amber brown with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has sweet grains and toffee with a hint of bread backing. Flavor starts starts with bread but becomes sweet with toffee and a hint of cookie. kidmartinek (5007) - austin, Texas, USA - OCT 18, 2013
Rich, dark brown color. Medium, white ring head. Light, malty cocoa aroma. Steady backbone of flavorful malt and toffee. Brown ales are soo good and this is one of the better ones. Good balance. Just a tinge of sweetness. Spare white lace. Newcomers unite!

Sampled on tap at Big Rip. Pours a deep brown color with white head. Sweet, milky, roasty, nutty aromas. Very sweet, malty, light nutty flavors. Pretty light bodied for a brown. I like my browns with a little more body.
